They rival Gucci in terms of quality and construction!

They were dirt cheap until the last minute when the back and forth got the seller a quick $35.00. Guess we''ll find out for sure when they arrive.

There is no more doubt, they are definitely not shell. Yet, with a little cleaning and polishing, I'm more than happy with them. What's more, they are Bals that accomodate my high instep. Well worth the $49 and shipping I think. There even seems to be a little depth to the coloring, particularly near the toes.

However, I am still in search of the remainder of his estate.

Nice. I've almost purchased a pair of those in the past, may have even bid on one once. Have you considered straight lacing?

According to one post above, you may well have bid on these.

As to the laces...yes, but I have to figure it out. I've spent so many years wearing AE's dressier loafers, that my shoe lacing skills are, sadly, lacking. Any sites you like on the subject? Seems there are sites for near everything anymore.

I received my "Keith Highlanders" and went through Doc Holliday's stripping method last night. They are for sale and a full thread detailing this process and showing the end result can be found here:

Almost new Weston boots, 9C, for $228 BIN. Don't see Westons often on eBay, at least in 9 ...

Rider has some neat suede/calf slipons on ebay right now for a good price. Other sizes are available too it looks like.

I'm not sure about the calf/lizard shoes though.

I kinda like those calf/lizard despite myself. I'm not an exotic skin guy, but they look pretty good.

Yeah, I'd agree with you there. They're not my style, but I think Rider does good work with exotics that are still tasteful and classic.
