I think even at the current price they'd be a waste of money. Especially from the side view they look really beat.

Paging Mr. Shoe, Mr. D. Shoe...
Gucci derbies

Tarmac and chorse - Thanks, I think I just needed somebody to back me off of buying the name just because it was a low price! I think I like the style well enough except for the garish high-rise tongue (any way a cobbler could just lop that thing off and restitch?), but with the quality issues added on it probably isn't even worth taking a flier on them.

Any chance that these will look brilliant and new with nothing more than a shine? My untrained eye tells me they may be worth the risk if the price stays under $50. Anyone with a more expert thought?

Also hard to tell how badly the sole is worn, but I think they've got some life in them yet - ?

Agreed with the other guys, those were born ugly and will die ugly.

Especially for undisclosed rejects.... they do have the stamped R in a circle I saw on my last trip to the factory.

What's up with these Loake by Dr. Martens (or is it the other way around), is there some relationship there?:

Now that you mention it, you can see the R in one of the pics. So, what do these seconds go for at the factory, Tom?

Shikar, you're a 12W?

Don't worry, I don't think I'll be bidding at these prices.
