Cool Shoes, Paraphernalia & Desiderata - Page 402

Note how the Guccis ( which are not nearly as nice as the Churchs) are going for $90 more than the Churchs as I write this.

BTW: Are these Church whole cuts done in the infamous "Bookbinders leather", that is often discussed when Church is mentioned?

I doubt it's corrected grain. Again, I have some wholecuts with similar creasing after just a few wears....I think there was a thread on that subject recently, actually. Seek other opinions if interested, but these don't look like CG to me.

ended at around $200...I guess it didn't fly under the radar...

$200, nice. those look full grain to me. that kind of creasing happens when you wear shoes 5-10 times, which matches the outsole.

I appreciated the question and answer as well, as I've noticed and wondered the same. Thanks SF!

With the renewed interest in Saint Crispin's shoes on this forum and AAAC, these from Ian seem like timely entries for this thread. Not inexpensive, but the prices seem very good for the super quality of this shoe line. Be aware of the quirky sizing of Saint Crispin's shoes (E 1/2, F 1/2, G 1/2, and H 1/2), and, I'd suggest, get Ian to give the verbatim size written in the shoes. I particularly like the boots, but not my size, unfortunately:

I think they are both ugly as hell. Not to mention on the new catalogue, there were only five or so shoes that looked "good" IMO.

I was hoping those would slip under the radar.
