In his descriptions, he seems to consider Florsheim Imperials as the greatest shoe ever made in the US?  Anyone agree? My dad used to wear Florsheims, and, I have to say, I was never a big fan.
He's probably thinking of the old, v-cleat style that used to be made in the USA. Double soled, either a blucher long wing or plaintoe. I'm guessing you could make a case for that. There's probably something to be said for the power and sturdiness of that shoe. The current versions are imitations, granted, good imitations, but imitations still.

I purchased these, better than what I expected. However, a little too small for my feet.  They are a british 9.5.  I am about to list them on ebay for $68, but will offer them to someone here first at that price. -

I have that in my EBay "watch" list. I agree it's pretty nice, and unique. Today, such a case would undoubtedly cost $700+.

I don't think those are Vass. RJ, I don't like it enough to buy it and have it shipped to me. I wouldn't use it anyway, I don't think.
