Whilst in theory you should remove the 'influence' of the 'bad' bidder, if this is an automated second chance opportunity, then it doesn't work that way. The official offer is not negotiable, though you can try emailing the seller directly.

And please make sure this second chance offer doesn't originate from Nigeria... there are a lot of bogus second-chance opportunities floating around out there of dubious origin...

It won't hurt to try an offer of $420. Truth is, if you were willing to bid $476 for, them-you wouldn't have a problem paying $476 for them. In my opinion, they are very nice shoes and well worth that and more. Most likely this unregistered bidder was a fluke that had nothing to do with the seller or shill bidding.

Its interesting that you think they are "worth that and more". Ebay has pretty good liquidity. Hasn't the ebay community spoken in terms of what they are worth? i would note that the seller tried to sell them for $550 in an earlier auction and didn't get a bid. On the other hand, if I walked into lobb and tried to buy these...

I'd definitely determine the seller's return policy unless you're sure that a UK 11 will fit you. And, if I'm reading the sizing correctly, they appear to be F-width, which in Lobb is wide (E is their equivalent of US D). Therefore, if I were to guess the size in the US system, I'd say 12E. So, be absolutely certain that you can return them for a refund, not a credit, if the fit isn't right. This seller's feedback record doesn't exactly inspire confidence--although, in fairness, it's been good over the past 12 months.
