Good point; you may be right. I overlooked that fact, just reading the size off the inside. For anyone interested, some research with the seller (and perhaps Barney's) is in order.

nevermind!

Other than the fact that this seller has an 82.4% Feedback score, and 3 people have accused him of selling fakes, this could be a great deal:

$19 BIN Tramezzas! Do these look real to you?

And here's his 100% authentic auction.

There was some discussion of these a couple of weeks ago ...

Whoever made 'em, they're not to my taste. I'd go with the Mora first.

Thanks Doc, I missed the first discussion, and I was just joking of course.

This seller has such little credibility, he couldn't even sell his early pregnancy testing strips for $.99, here.

And don't forget, the "shoe molds to the foot at first wearing". (But you have to focus a blow dryer on them for a good ten minutes so that the plastic becomes pliable before putting them on for the first time...)

the seller has given me 24 hours for a second chance opportunity to purchase these lobbs for $476: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=170139604718 I have two concerns: - They might be a little big for me - If you looking at the bidding activity, someone outbid me and then unregistered. It went like this bidder a: $415 me : $476 bad bidder: $481 I think I should be offered the shoes for $420 or so since the bad bidder had no intention of buying the shoes. Questions: - Should I push for $420 or am I being greedy? - If they don't fit, will I be able to get my money back out of the shoes? tia,

Whilst in theory you should remove the 'influence' of the 'bad' bidder, if this is an automated second chance opportunity, then it doesn't work that way. The official offer is not negotiable, though you can try emailing the seller directly.

tia,

And please make sure this second chance offer doesn't originate from Nigeria... there are a lot of bogus second-chance opportunities floating around out there of dubious origin...

It won't hurt to try an offer of $420. Truth is, if you were willing to bid $476 for, them-you wouldn't have a problem paying $476 for them. In my opinion, they are very nice shoes and well worth that and more. Most likely this unregistered bidder was a fluke that had nothing to do with the seller or shill bidding.
Its interesting that you think they are "worth that and more". Ebay has pretty good liquidity. Hasn't the ebay community spoken in terms of what they are worth? i would note that the seller tried to sell them for $550 in an earlier auction and didn't get a bid. On the other hand, if I walked into lobb and tried to buy these...

Dainite-soled (one of the best of the rubber soles--used by EG and G&G) storm-welted outdoor shoes. Almost certainly made by C&J or Alfred Sargent. Good quality; excellent price:

tia,
I'd definitely determine the seller's return policy unless you're sure that a UK 11 will fit you. And, if I'm reading the sizing correctly, they appear to be F-width, which in Lobb is wide (E is their equivalent of US D). Therefore, if I were to guess the size in the US system, I'd say 12E. So, be absolutely certain that you can return them for a refund, not a credit, if the fit isn't right. This seller's feedback record doesn't exactly inspire confidence--although, in fairness, it's been good over the past 12 months.

Be careful out there....
