Can someone explain to me the difference (if any) between the Lobb Wallace model and their William? Different lasts (these appear to be on the 9795 if I'm reading the script correctly)? Different series (one in Classic collection, the other in the Prestige line)? Simple name change? Or am I missing some design difference? BTW, these might have originally been rejects or factory seconds if the script character after the last number is an "R."

Good finds, EL72. However, I must say that I don't find the cashew color of those Vales very appealing. It's certainly different, I guess, but seems lacking in any warmth and kind of sterile to me. Just a personal observation!

C&J unlined spectator loafers. Just a few observations: (a) Seller gives size as 8.5D US. Since they're marked 7.5D UK, I'd expect the width to be closer to a US C--so slightly narrower than medium width. (b) Seller identifies as being part of Handgrade line; they're not--they're Main Collection (aka "benchgrade") C&Js. (c) Seller gives a lot of bumf about how C&J spectators are all special-order, uncataloged, and more expensive. Not true: The C&J catalog has one pair of spectators listed at the regular Main Collection price (although not these which were evidently made for Barney's). Finally, vamp and tongue material would appear to likely be linen, not cotton as stated. Whether it's solid linen or linen attached to underlying leather is hard to tell. Still and all, nice shoes that might end a good bargain:

Exactly. They look identical to the C&J Lawrences at Ben Silver--and likely are nothing more than that. (Not that the Lawrence isn't a great shoe; it is. Too bad it's not available through PLal and Pediwear.)

Also those are more of an 11 than a 10.5D, they would be very very difficult to wear with tailored clothing (navy or grey suits would be out) and are more jean type of shoes.

But those Lobb Jodhpurs are bananas.

Inasmuch as they were sold at Barneys, isn't the 7.5D the US size in any event?
