Perhaps these are poorly photographed:

The seller must read this thread because earlier the auction quoted a lower price @ Neimans, not Nordstrom.

BTW, I have seen this Santoni model in person, so I am not talking generally.

thanks to everyone, I really appreciate the help. I purchased these and now I'm mulling over if I should look at it like I've saved $400 or spent more on a pair of shoes than ever before. I suppose both...

opinions on these woud be appreciated:

Stylistically, they only need to appeal to you. Construction and quality wise, that is the best $150 you have ever spent on shoes.

Tramezzas are high quality and are a good deal at Ebay prices.

Unfortunately the Tramezza auction still has a day and a half to go (and now it has been posted in this thread, so...)

Gorgeous and I wish they were my size. The 1105 last rocks.

Nicely proportioned NIB suede dress shoes, with leather soles. Appear to be of high quality--either C&J or Alfred Sargent, I guess. Price seems excellent, and seller has 100% positive feedback on 8600+ transactions!

Those are nice, I think they would be a good bargain for anything under $300, I personally would go upto $350-375, but that's me . . .

Same shoe, but one size larger, and in gold museum calf. I like the 1105 last, but there is something about the Brampton that I don't find attractive. I think it is the seam running down only one side of the shoe.

I agree completely. To me it looks ugly and seems to be there merely to create a slightly different-looking shoe from their other models. Even if it ran down both sides, a seam at that angle in that location just looks to me unnatural.

+2 on the brampton, that seam makes the shoe fugly.
