tia,

i don't know - i was only talking about ebay. as for identifying them, AE doesn't mark them. But stores like Nordstrom do mark their unworn returns.

Describe these "imperfections"? I would think a store like shoes.com would only sell first quality shoes unless clearly marked.

AE stamps a little picture of a shoe on the sole just in front of the heel to ID their seconds.

Anyone know who makes shoes for Kilgour French Stanbury? They read, "Benchmade in England."

The most frequent answer I've read is Crockett & Jones. At times Kilgour had said it collaborates with Cleverley on its RTW shoes, which is logical since Crockett makes (most of if not all of) Cleverley's RTW too.

Thanks. Any idea about these shoes in particular? The heels don't look like C&J

So sorry for being inconsiderate!

Thank you!

I needed a pair of black captoes as my J&M's were getting long in the tooth. These look like C&J Bedfords with the 317 last, but I'm terrible at identifying lasts.

Hard to tell actual condition, but if price stays low, they could be candidates for the EG refurbishing program (from which you get an all-but-new shoe) for 125 GBP.

I had a pair of those shoes back in the day when they were being sold by Barney's. The things were like tanks, lasted forever and looked great.

It looks like he's getting ready to hang himself, but wanted to show off his shoes first.
