Edit: I think I've found the answer. These shoes were made a decade ago--probably at a time when RL used the same model names as EG. In any case, a really good deal with those great lasted shoe trees.

You could tell they were NOS because of the $695 retail price tag on it.

Yes that seller has had NOS before... I bought a pair of shoes from him and was happy with the product and service...

A Harris, you hit the jackpot on shoes to sell this week

These from our treasured partner at World*Class*Consignment:

St Crispin 11 1/2 oxfords. These are IMO the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen. My heard wept (and my pocketbook cheered) when I realized that they are too big.

Can anyone tell if these were EG? I didn't bid because I chickened out I just want to know if that was a mistake.

Nope, they are C&J and predate any "Purple Label" designation from RL. This model was the first pair of good shoes I ever bought, I think they were $325 in the late 80s. I especially love the laces, I wish I could find replacements for mine.

Mine are still going strong!

Damn. I guess I should have bid.

They are gorgeous. I fear they'd be too narrow for me.

Yeah I've been watching these since day one but I was a little scared off by the seller's rating and unwillingness to show the toe of the right shoe. After a couple of emails I got her to acknowledge the flaws which she then added to the description (I am hyper-sensitive to this after buying a beautiful but flawed pair of bally's a few months ago).

Hopefully the imperfection is nothing major and will come out with some TLC. Keep us posted.

No no, I didn't buy them. I chickened out like you.

I think perhaps these are genuine. Just spotted these: Not Tramezza obviously, the seller says the model is "Torqua" and describes them as "barely-ankle high romeo boots".

+1 on being scared off by the seller's feedback... terrible!

Purple Label, but not EG. Made in Italy. Anyone know who is making these for RL? Seller states retail price of $475+, so well below that of EG-made PLs--and perhaps suggesting that this is not the greatest deal to come along, with a BIN of $345.
