These actually say Edward Green for Paul Stuart on the insole, size 9D. Too bad about the toe scuffs...

Oh no worries, it just struck a chord because I had considered making a comment about the price but left it out at the last minute. I suppose I should be stoked because it suggests I know more about shoes I have no intention of buying than I thought I did.

Hard to believe someone is going to pay $599 for these these!

Well, maybe some Lexol will make them like new.

BTW: I'm a cynic (as far as Ebay). Just because there is a winning bid doesn't mean that the transaction will be completed and paid for. I'm sure regular Ebay sellers can tell you this.

Good find, Dr. But, jeez, I sure wouldn't let those scuffs put me off. A good cobbler could make them all but disappear. I've had deeper indentations than those that got fixed to the point that they're invisible further away than about 12 inches.

This person also bought Stilmacher's Corthays, various fabrics and an autographed picture of Ronald Reagan.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280133157207 I like the strap over the instep better than around the ankle as on jodhpurs. Stuart McGuire is certainly not a good brand, and these are undoubtedly corrected-grain, but they've gone around a few times so you could get them for the starting bid of $10. Could be nice for someone in size 12AA trying to expand their Street footwear on the cheap:

At first, I thought it might have been crazy Lobb man. Looks like he also got a Bang & Olufsen stereo set: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150131182819
