the City, from the JLobb Classic (not Prestige) line, and, as a result, I think that the stated retail price is somewhat off. My impression has been that Classic-line JLobb shoes retail in the US for something around $950. Correct?

LOL. Yeah. This particular seller has done this before--listed a BIN equal to the claimed retail price at the same time as inviting lower offers. The thinking must be that higher offers will come this way than the final bidded price when the item is started with a low opening bid. I'm curious about how successful this selling strategy could be expected to be.
