I'm sure that's what happened.

I hate that, unless, of course, I do it.

Dark brown C&J split toe bluchers in UK size 11E. Channeled soles, so may be handgrades. No bids yet (opening bid GBP 129.99).

Those are intriguing shoes, Thinman! I'm pretty sure they aren't handgrades, given (a) the seller's claim about the full retail price (290 GBP) and (b) the last (325), which I've only ever seen used with regular-grade C&Js, but they do have the closed-channel soles, so go figure. They look like the Onslow--but with a split toe (not normally found on the Onslow). Another intriguing feature: uppers of "antique nubuck"! They sure don't look like nubuck in the pictures, but that's what's stated by the seller (who's been around the block on eBay).

These are listed as calf but they look a heck of a lot like shell to me....

Roger, you're right about the last, but isn't the stated retail price close to handgrade pricing (I don't know the current exchange rate)? I agree that they aren't nubuck, except possibly for the lake in front. It seems to have a matte finish in some photos.

FWIW, I own a pair of shoes on the 325 last and it's generously sized in the toe box.

Andrew, I agree that those BB shoes look like shell cordovan. If they were my size, I'd take a flier, especially at only $26.

And they would probably be worn...I mean who sells their custom made shoes without wearing them??

These are very nice. Someone should buy them. Mantellassi size 8 will probably fit a 9 - not sure about 9.5 as he's suggesting.
