I was somehow unaware of this business arrangement.....Size 10 Cole Haan by Edward Green.

I have a pair of gray suede loafers that EG did for CH, via Nordstrom's.

Aportnoy, do you know if this is a more recent business arrangement? Is EG still making shoes for CH? It seems an odd relationship to me.

Long since dead Henry. CH is more interested in deals with Nike for their dress shoes, these days. My shoes date from the mid-80s.

This is from eons ago. Cole Haans current goodyear welted offerings are made in India. A few years back Cole Haan had a couple of limited edition models made by an Italian manufacturer and those shoes were absolutely insane!! I sold a pair and I regret it.

Agreed Ed. Yours were shell cordovan, IIRC. I have a brown captoe from that line, they have the wildest shovel soles I've seen since the J&M handmades that Bennie's sold.

I bought my cousin a pair of those a few years back (spade sole Cole Haans) and he gave them away! Arghhh...

I do recall the cordovan special editions that were on Ebay last year. They were gorgeous!

Thanks for the reminder. RL re-branded EGs of this style are indeed called by RL the "Eden" model. The Parson mentioned in my earlier post has the broguing. Beware that the lasts (and therefore the fit) may differ, as the Parsons I have seen are made on the 888 last, not the 89.

Actually, I seem to remember reading a couple of years back that Nike now owns Cole-Haan.

We used to have a Cole Haan store near where I live, and I bought several pairs of really lovely shoe trees from them.

It was rather sad to see their shoe lines degrade over time - when I first started browsing there, the shoes were quite nice. However, over time they gradually seemed to come down in quality and style, until a lot of shoes in the store seemed to be either tasselled loafers or unattractive plimsolls!

Seller lists them as 9D, but being 8.5 UK, they're 9.5 US. Presumably US D-width, as stated by seller. Beautiful color (chestnut) and antiquing. Great pictures, and seller appears to be good (100% positive feedback):
