They sold these last year and they were not purple label.

I received this today:

Thank you for your email. I apologize for the confusion. It is the wrong picture with the auction. The item picturedd is in auction at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=200111296570. However, we do not currently have a picture of the item in the auction 200111559895. We will correct the issue as soon as possible, but in the meantime must pull that auction. Again, I apologize for the confusion and please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best Regards,

Phil

Either the picture's wrong or the description is. Those are clearly Polo, and the description claims the shoes are tan Mackays.

So you get these for a song (of your choice), have them sent directly to the EG refurbishing department and get them back in 6-8 weeks. Total cost: 150 GBP (to include shipping) + whatever you get the shoes for--likely under 50 GBP. So you could have a somewhat like-new pair of EGs for $390-$400 US. Too bad the owner never knew about shoehorns.

I have the same pair--same size even--that I won last year. The uppers didn't have this kind of damage and the soles were original, but overall they hadn't been well maintained. I striped the old polish off and have been building it up again over time and they turned out very well. I've been meaning to post some pictures of them.

Please do, I'm eager to see how that works...how does one strip polish?

Yeah, the picture's wrong - those are the bulter loafers which at retail are $600.

WARNING!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=020

I wish I caught this earlier. I bought these once before. One shoe is burgandy calf and the other is burgundy shell cordovan. The seller was nasty too, it took some doing to get my money back.

That should get reported, even though it has already ended.

Yes, they're clearly green label.

I tried on a bunch of those shoes about a month or two ago at his warehouse. I think he's pricing them very fairly, and they tended to be conservative designs for FAM. There was one full brogue that I almost bought, but it was too close in color, shape and style to my Drummonds for me to justify the purchase.

I don't know about that F sizing - as far as I remembered, they were all normal width shoes. He may be reading the markings incorrectly.
