"The company is located in the North-East of Italy, an area with a very old tradition in shoe manufacturing.
The origins of what is now called NIPMAR go back to 1908, when the uncle of the present owners, Giovanni Rampin, started to produce small quantities of shoes which were completely hand-made and he sold them at the local market.
After World War II in 1946, Mario Rampin, the father of the owners, started to enlarge the production and to sell the shoes in the national market, but always keeping the original handicraft tradition. He transmitted his experience and skills to his sons, who in 1978 established NIPMAR company as it is now; Giancarlo and Antonio Rampin follow personally every stage of workmanship, from the creation of the model to the production and the marketing of the products.
At the beginning the production was thought only for the Italian market, but, after a few years, they started to extend also to the international markets, trying to create collections that could satisfy the needs of different customers as far as style, lasts and materials are concerned; NIPMAR is now famous not only for calf shoes, but also for their use of exotic skins such as ostrich, lizard, shark, alligator and crocodile.
They based their policy on diversification and so the expansion continued steadily over the last years, proving to be winning and able to keep up with the changing international markets. More than 75% of the production is now sold in Asia and Middle East.
Since the very first day the production has always been characterized by the research of quality in line with the themes emerging from the contemporary fashion trends. Most part of the manufacturing is still completely hand-made, and this old manual tradition is largely visible from the particulars of the manufacture, and 100% made in Italy.
NIPMAR shoes are for an elegant and demanding customer; the man who buys a pair of NIPMAR shoes pays attention to his look and considers shoes more than a simple accessory but a central element in his wardrobe.
The latest collections are focused both on luxury and functionality, created for a modern man who appreciates elegance, the shoes have contemporary lines with a sophisticated design, colours are dark and simple (black, dark brown, burgundy)."http://www.nipmar.it/chi_siamo.htm
