Does everyone realize that those Edmonds were made for the European Market and that is why they are in size E?

I don't think they're 9.5 as the seller states. They sound smaller than that at 11.5" in length.

She sometimes waits until very late in auctions to post pics and sometimes doesn't post them at all.

This is the so-called iconic EG Harrow in black. The original loafer apparently created by your grandfather for King George V. A very nice loafer imo.

Thank you again Zip! I ordered the 9E, luckily and thanks to gdl w/the 20%.

What color is the Bancroft in your picture? It looks like burgundy cordovan rather than the black that STP is (only) offering. Very sharp shoe and makes me look forward to mine!

I'm looking at the AE Bancroft (cordovan) on STP as my first -- and only -- pair of black shoes. I can get them for around $230 with a 20% off code. If a guy only has one pair of black shoes (for weddings, funerals and other formal events), would this be a good one?

Thanks in advance.

No - if you want one pair of black shoes appropriate for ALL occasions, forget medallions

It'll be more than acceptable for weddings (as a guest, not part of the wedding party) and funerals. It'll probably be okay for interviews as well.

Make fun of me if you must but I would have snagged those if they were my size and I had the $$$. There, I said it
I like putting together sort of old fashioned (especially military/mil-inspired) themed things and while these are not that per se I think they would have worked nicely with some things I have. Damn.

While the post may poke fun, personally I'm in complete agreement. I've got my tape measure out, and I'm in the process of convincing myself that those are exactly what I need to wear to a mid-May wedding. Trouble is that buying these will mean my spats get hardly any wear.
