Those are pointy.. and still not even terribly so. I think it's due to their size (length) that accentuates it. The ones I posted before are hardly pointy.

To me they are. But I don't like C$J 337 last, which is a holy grail to most on this forum. So, don't listen to me.

Are these Boots real JLs or not? What do you think?:

Here's the listing:

Lobb Ankle Boots?

seems to me that if they really had gone "to greath lengths" to verify authenticity, they would also have gone to great lengths to take revealing, non-blurry photos that actually show the supposedly telling details.

Someone else with doubts about the 337! I love it. I have a pair of the Weymouths, and have never really warmed to them. I wear a size 13, and I mean they are long and POINT-EEEEE. Then again, I love the AE lasts. I am wearing a brand new pair of the Orlean tan bucks this afternoon, and love them.

Call me a heretic.

The sleeker lasts will undoubtedly look pointier the longer they are.

Is the CJ 337 really that pointy? Especially the on Weymouth, it never looked that severe to me.

I am exaggerating, but it sure looks long and pointy compared to your typical AE. Whenever I put them on my wife jokes that I look like I'm ready to hook my arm around a horseshoe-handled cane and start a soft shoe.

Wait until she sees the AE spectators I have my eyes on.

No, it's not pointy to me - I like the 337. I was referring to Law's assessment.

Oh. Uhm, err, I never said I could read properly

I am still planning to get a Weymouth at some point when I have the cash. I have wanted a pair ever since I first saw a picture here on SF...

I don't think the 337 is all that pointy and I wear a size 12. The 348 last, on the other hand...I have a pair of monkstraps on the 348 that could put someone's eye out.

I'm considering these Vintage FLORSHEIM Imperial Wingtips:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-FLORSHEI...QQcmdZViewItem

Having just seen J's thread selling a pair of (slightly larger) Florsheims, can you experts out there tell me something about these shoes. I notice these don't have the double row of nails in the heel, does that mean they're of a lesser quality despite the "Imperial" name (and hence worth << $70)?

I notice that the medallions on the right shoe look like they have slightly large holes. Does that point toward a cleaning/restoration of the upper? (Strikes me as something that could occur, having spent some time looking at the shoe restoration photo essay on the wiki.)

Great deal on brown Canali plain toe bluchers (also in size 8 from this seller). Very well made shoes by Campanile.

I decided not to bid on these Campanile wholecuts but they are awesome and a great deal at $179. I think they'd be good for a 9-9.5.

I LOVE these Zegna monks (Ed's shoes) but not my size. These are 10-10.5. Seller also has brown 3-eyelet bluchers in 11.
