They also have these:

The first are referred to as their "Eaton" model and are said to have a retail of $595. The second are referred to as their "Eton" model and are said to have a retail of $425.

Except for color, they look the same to me (or am I missing something here?), and I'm assuming that one of the two spellings is the correct one and applies to both. But if so, why would the stated retail differ ($595 vs. $425)? Also, is the RL Polo "Eton" (or "Eaton") basically the C&J Onslow (but with all-the-way-through eyelet grommets)?

they probably misspelled the name on one of them. i think they're both made in england, and both $595, but warrant neither opinion.

here's one reason why - i know that some of the English Polo's use that exact sole - it's a classic english rubber sole. (ridgeway, i think).

Hard to believe thesse RLPls went for only $242.50. Perhaps because they're suede(?). I regret not throwing out a bid, just in case.

Here you go, you guys who like iconic American shoes--Teacher, are you there? Doc Holliday, I think these are your size. These seem to have very little wear.

It's regular leather with an embossed pattern. I tend to dislike the practice, but those are fairly tasteful and well done.

Yep. Here's the link:

Shockingly low price. I wonder what EG must think of this, especially given the broad market of EBay and the extremely reliable seller (GVH).

yeah, the suede slip-ons have been going pretty low. i bidded on one in my size (10.5), and the final price was $260. i already have a suede slip-on from paul stuart, so i wasn't bidding agressively.
