Yeah. That pair of shoes was also not labeled as Florsheim (and ultimately wasn't made by Florsheim, either), so it was definitely a gamble. I thought that the triangular plate would be an indicator of quality or perhaps that Florsheim had manufactuered the shoes to an independent store's standard or something. Although it may not look like it, the heel is actually made out of rubber. I never saw that one coming either.

I'm usually a 10D. I think these might be the real deal? The don't have the double row or nails but they don't have the combination heal either.

I think those are from a later vintage (late 90's perhaps?). Unless you're sure it's not a corrected grain shoe, I'd avoid those. Also, although I typically wear an 8.5D, I bought my Kenmoors a size narrower and they fit fine (though I'm probably on the narrower side of 8.5D).

There are two nice new/old stock pairs in 9.5C (#1 and #2) as well as quite a few lightly used pairs in other sizes.

Thanks. I'm on the narrower side of 10D as well, and can sometimes wear a 9.5 if it is long enough. I wish the pairs you posted were a 10C/D! I guess if I tried the 9.5 and it didn't fit I could resell them here pretty easily.

Full rubber heel and red leather sole tells me they aren't Imperials at all.

These look cool and they have a Cat's Paw sole.

http://cgi.ebay.com/POLO-RALPH-LAURE...QQcmdZViewItem Are these really Darltons? I thought all of the nicer polos were made in England. Could be wrong though.

Those creases don't look like new shoes.

An e-mail to the seller about what's actually written in the shoes would be prudent. If they are, in fact, a Euro 43, this would make them about an 8.75 UK and a 9.75 US--which could be what the seller means by 8.5/9 UK. I take a 9.5 US, and a Euro 43 is always about right--sometimes a little roomy. It seems clear that the box pictured is not the one for these shoes, so don't be put off by what's written on it. For $400 US, I'd go after these if I needed them and might try to persuade the seller to ship to the US. I wonder whether s/he ships to Canada....
