They actually look better with a bit of wear than straight out of the box. Of course, they're probably helped here by the lack of crushing disappointment.

Ok, enough already. I know that there's some story--going back a while--involving the RL Corben model, but I'll be damned if I've ever been able to figure it out! What exactly happened?

NOS Florsheim Imperials from the 70's and 80's, size 10. If they were my size, I'd be all over them.

Seriously friggin' awesome. If anyone has a pair sitting around in 8.5D, I'd be willing to shell out some serious cash for them.

I'm making a run at those split toes. I have a pair of similar-aged Kenmoors (longwing bluchers) in a similar color and they ain't too bad. edit: doh! those black shoes are Kenmoors. My pair is cognac. I got them from a little store in Bakersfield that time forgot. I swear most of their stock was 20 years old. I knew the owner and the store had been in the family for at least 50 years. They owned half of downtown Bakersfield and kept running the shoe store for some reason, though it was lost in a time warp.

Split toes are awesome. Louis used to carry something a split toe from Bontoni like that with great antiquing -- and they were serious cash
