if you look closely at the soles of these shoes you can tell that these were totally resoled. there is a line around where the channelling would be and the soles on the brendens and other classics are always closed channel woody-like soles.
the nordstrom rack refurbish job is actually a slight sand down and black colored over, but they still use the same original sole. so if they had one of these at the rack for 129 i would quickly buy it. i bought a brand new brenden with original soles for 91 dollars from nordstrom rack last year. i was very lucky as that was the only one.

these are resoled and colored over to make look like original black woody sole. it is not nordstrom it is another retailer that does this resole job, as i have seen this alot before on the santoni classics on the ebay.

some nice shoe items in size 10 US.

hmm. i already bid on the keat if anyone wants to bid more power to you.
the vass is sweet, but alas ,this seller always somehow places topys and heel taps on all his vass???

That Vass was nice (except I'm not a big fan of topys and taps). 1 size too big for me, but inspiring.

I bought the Vass. Topsy and Taps don't bug me. I was gonna order that shoe anyhow. Figured I paid a premium for the lack of order time. Can't taps be removed?

Definitely a great purchase! I'm feeling inspired to pick up a pair in 43 myself. Love the look.

De rien. If they're your size, great buy! I've bought from him before and he is fine. $12 for 1-2 day ExpressPost shipping and no Canada customs rip-off!

Amen to that

I've been looking for a brown Derby shoe for ages and these fit the bill perfectly. I believe they are the C&J Dartmouth model.

Thanks again.

Argoth,
if you wear a size 9.5-10 like me and wear a 8.5 snug in kiton, the 43 i will advise is a bit tooo tight! others here will disagree.

I don't think they were resoled, but the sole does look too have been professionally sanded down and refinished.

Not sure why topy's and taps are a bad thing? Leave them on, they are a plus as your shoes will last longer.

I own the Santoni Thorpe and I really love it -- it's quite a substantial shoe. And the Lidfort looks interesting...
