haha, right. but do you also think that these buckles are really way too big for the overall look of the shoe?

That buckle is too big to wear around your waist.

The Kiton are nice, however, in this price range Vass Ulast > Kiton.

The challenge with a Kiton shoe is that for business many of their styles (not all) while beautiful are very 'PiMp' for business, at least that's my initial concern with seeing them with a suit. Just my initial impressions, great looking shoes, but I wonder if they wouldn't become too much of a focus of your overall look? Please call me crazy It just seems the Vass U Last achieves a more understated, elegant styling with better quality in this price range.

i agree with your point, and i would prefer vass over kiton when wearing a suit as welll, because the occasion of wearing a suit usually requires an air of understateness.
but for guys like us, owning a variety of shoes under the sun, pimpin shoes like kiton is a desirable !!!

If you turn your head to the side, it's kind of like the strap is giving you the finger.

Is that John Lobb's hommage to the El Camino (or the mullet)? Not a monkstrap, not a balmoral...
Heh.

Well put. If I could afford a pair of nutter Kiton shoes, I'd grab them. Hell, just having a coat on, nevermind a suit, would be out of the norm where live so anything past a suit is well in to PiMp!

Why freaky? The double closure types? At least those Lobbs are consistent in that they are all-blucher--the lace-up part and monk shoe part (a monk is normally a blucher). How about the following balmoral/monk-strap beauties?

Gives new meaning to the phrase belt and suspenders

Wow they went for only $56! Who would have thought - EG for less than a hundred bucks...

fyi - c&j doesn't make for rlpl - edward green does. the polo double monks (with the captoe) is the chawner. allegedly made by c&j, but possibly by another northhampton firm.
