Pictures are soso... Are these really EG?
One wouldn't think so from seeing the soles which are stitched aloft. Or did Edward Green do soles that way at one time?

The legendary one:

Actually Model 677, not 877, unless the black version has the latter model designation. Will ship to North America. Should be close to 9.5US--maybe just a hair smaller.

Hey, I just might buy these! I could wear them with my new overcoat you posted in the other thread and.......oh, never mind.

I'd say they are ladies' boots.

The strap/buckle is placed higher up on the boot than on most jodphurs.
Here's a pair from a SF member:

Heh, those are my boots, Mr Monty

I have worked out some thing that is different; the tab/piece of leather that is behind the ankle under which the straps are passed is missing from the ones in the auction. Wonder if they are an older model or something.

perhaps they are roo leather?
They kind of look like my roo leathers in texture, but a much lighter color.

Maybe. Mine are roo also, but I cannot tell from the seller's pics if the leather has the same grain or not...

Church`s spectators, sz. 8,5 UK

I'm guessing for the German market. These shoes seem to answer the question I raised in Post #3451 in this thread re whether EG make shoes with soles stitched aloft; evidently they do.

http://cgi.ebay.com/RAHMENGENAHTE-SC...QQcmdZViewItem

There are other curiosities about these shoes, most notably the 360-degree welt that I've never seen on EGs. Also the stated retail price of 399 euros (about $525) and the generally clunky non-EG-like appearance with the wide sole extension. These EGs may have been made specifically for a Teutonic audience and perhaps not up to usual EG standards. If anyone is interested, I'd check very carefully about size. Seller says 44 euro, but suggests that this is 10 UK. From what I've learned, 44 would be 9.5 UK and probably 10 - 10.5 US.

These EG must be very old... Around 1960 maybe?

46 (+/-2) nails in one heelpiece! Only my vintage Florsheim imperials have more metal in them

Maybe they're rebadged Allen Edmonds.

Would appreciate comments on this ebay win:

Not too sure if Church's are very well regarded in these parts...
