could those be JL's? The boxes sort of have a resemblance. And the shoes don't look like real crap! But with "bargainland", you are likely to get 5 single shoes and not pairs. They won't answer Emails. Do we have any gamblers out there?

What are the odds they are your size???

edit: those guys should pay you all a fee . . . the bid price has doubled in about 10 minutes.

Rnoldh, I was about to take you off my Christmas card list but now after reading your latest post I just realized something. Nowhere in the auction does it say you are getting 5 pairs of shoes, just a grab bag of shoes. All pics are of single shoes. You are probably right, it wouldn;t surprise me if that is what they are selling. I have a much higher snipe in, but I am going to lower it drastically to compensate for that unknown risk. Keep in mind that these guys had a pair of Berluti's that they sold and they regularly sell Tyrwhitts so if they know to put the Berlutti's and Tywhitts in their own auctions and with the shoe brand prominently displayed, it is rather fishy that these Lobbs are in a grab bag and no brand mentioned.

All that being said, I am not invitingyou to the family barbeque this year

P.S. the light and dark brown lace ups are definitely JL.

Edit: Actually, I'm completely coming out of this auction. I have a really stong feeling that they are selling 5 single shoes. Thanks rnoldh, you just saved me 2 bills.

It does say "What you see in the photo is what you are bidding on" ...

Not sure what to make of this one . . . the seller appears to do high-volume business, but I'm not sure that justifies over 900 negative feedbacks in the last month. That being said, I didn't see any negative feedback from a buyer indicating that they received literally one shoe instead of a pair. I know there's only a small amount of space for feedback, but this probably would have made it in somewhere at some point.

Also, their photos are all over the place. Some shoe auctions show the pair in the photo, others show only one shoe. It seems silly to think that those photos with only one shoe visible are all a scam . . .

90% rating for those guys? with that many auctions? I wouldn't buy from them on GP. I bet half of the happy buyers are only marginally happy but afraid of negative feedback. you can even see that in some of the comments on positive reviews.

This is the power of Lobb. That seller has 900 negatives in the last month. Sure, they do high-volume business, but their approval rating is only 90 percent. And that's partly because they received 900 negatives in the last month.

In all, that seller has had 23,256 negative transactions!
I'm still boggled. Bargainland is averaging 30 negative transactions per day.

Doc, I bet they still end up over $300.
