Seems like a good deal.

I've emailed this seller in the past and he has a fairly good/reasonable return policy.

Must be an old model. From pictures looks as if they might be Handgrades, but very hard to tell. They don't look like C&J to my eye, but rather more like an Italian shoe. Check what appears to be a very thin and close-cut sole that you'd expect to see with Blake construction, something that I doubt C&J has ever used. Notice also the very trim waist, the semi-butterfly strap treatment, and what appears to be typical thin Italian leather on the uppers. Also the vamp extension (or tongue) comes up much higher and back further than you see on most present-day C&J loafers. I don't know what the seller means by "indie" in his description, but I find them strangely attractive.

Demi chasse or what Weston calls "Split toe double sole" (#598). This is the storm-welted leather-sole version of the shoe. Seller is not far off in his reported retail price--they're $725 at Sky Valet.

What do you think of this Testoni shoe? What is its original retail value? Please tell me how you would rank Testoni when comparing it to brands like Santoni. http://www1.yoox.com/item/YOOX/A.TES...421B/areaid/36

If you're a tassel loafer kind of guy, this might be a good find:

Testoni is kinda in the same ballpark as Sutor M. and Santoni but I think those aren't a great deal at ~$330 or so. You should be able to find a better deal on FAMs or the like, or especially Tramezzas if you like the style.

Our own Kronik is the current high bidder. But the seller has a reserve price! I hate to waste my time on reserve price auctions.

Why not just start with a start price that is the reserve? I think that yields better results than a hidden reserve. Anyway, I hope Kronik wins them. They are very nice!
