Cool Shoes, Paraphernalia & Desiderata - Page 200

Probably simply ordered a pair of Vass and guessed at the size incorrectly.

However that is always a problem with Ebay even with experienced sellers. It is an unregulated bazaar rife with cheats on both sides of the transaction.

This seller is selling a couple Masterpiece line Grensons for around $185 BIN.

8.5E, Stuart's Choice

8.5D and 7.5D
(I can't break my New Year's resolution on January 4th...I'm letting them go)

8D, 7.5D, 6D

Are you sure these are Masterpiece's?

According to the seller (in reference to this auction):
Quote:
yes these are from masterpiece line

It's a reasonable assumption that the Stuart's Choice shoes are GMP. My post was based on the assertion that 1)the seller was telling the truth about the auction I asked about and 2)shoes with the same types of soles are from the same line.

I'm not terribly familiar with the different Grenson lines, but I'm probably 99% sure I've correctly identified Masterpiece line shoes (assuming the seller answered me truthfully). If you need confirmation, though, I'd wait to hear from a more knowledgable forum member (of which there are many).

If you go to the auction link, the seller has labeled which ones were made for Paul Stuart -- those are the Masterpieces.

I believe all the ones with channeled soles (the seller provides good pics) are Masterpiece line Grensons. You can see the stitching on the soles of the other ones. I would buy a pair in a second for $185 if they had my size

Good starting price on these casual, rubber-soled Lobbs:

Antiquing is not as nice as the other Berlutis (and price is higher):

The Vass is great too bad I own that exact style in that exact color in that exact size.
The london is one of their better stylings.

I took the plunge on the 7.5D's (I'd been thinking about these, unsure if they were masterpieces -- thanks for the replies) - if anyone is curious I'll let you know about them after receiving them.

There's a chance they might be too narrow and find their way to a separate theard in this forum.

These shoes are nice but I think they are a notch below Masterpiece. These are from that new line (Tim Little designed?). I bought a pair some time back and sold them. I would equate them with C&J benchgrade at best. The leather is kind of funny and it creases fast. They feel kind of "light", not sure how to explain it. Not trying to piss on your parade so if when you get them you think I am wrong, please let us know.

These are definitely Masterpieces. I bought a pair from the Bennies sale. It runs a bit narrow -- very similar to Edward Green's D-width fitting.

@#$!@#$&(!@#)&($!@#

Okay, now that I have that out of the way... Yes, some of these are masterpieces. I'm currently awaiting a pair of the Stowe in black from this seller and was hoping the rest would go undetected while he loads more in my size range...

Do these Grenson shoes run larger or smaller? Today I found out that Santoni shoes run a bit larger: usually I have a size EURO 43 but the Santoni which fits me perfectly is size 8: on the sole 8 was written, I am not sure if this is the UK or US size (?). Mike

My first and only (real) pair of black shoes. And the kicker, I'm buying them to wear to a black tie dinner.
