mediocre would be my guess. welted, but with average leather.

I actually like a smooth-black pare. They look almost like a spade-soles and if they are not then they are still very retro-cool.

100% agree with you on those utilitarian boots from BB. Cannot fathom what is so special about them.

I believe that is an oxymoron. Wings and buckles don't mix imo.

I'd say this is right. Less nice than, say, AE, but better than most of what you find in shoe stores these days. I'd guess the leather is fairly stiff.

I really like the black captoe, and have a similar vintage pair.

I wouldn't mind a monk and a wingtip if it was sans the brouging. I think there was a pair of C&J that has this combo but I can't find it for sale anywhere.

I agree that I can't abide a wingtip monkstrap. There's just too much going on. I do, however own a pair of C&J Readings, wingtip monkstraps without the medallion (or a punched austerity brogue(?)):

I paid a slight premium to sausages234 on ebay because I can't find them anywhere else. I like the style, but I'm disappointed by the leather quality.

I don't know who makes the Boss Selection shoes but I continue to be impressed with the look of those I have seen. e.g. this fine looking balmoral boot

It looks like those Boss could be made by Artioli.

Nice ones, but aren't they are a little bit too pointy? Witchy shoes?

Interesting. Would you consider that a good thing? Are Artioli shoes generally welted? The only Artioli I have seen looked so weird (in addition to what looked like cheap loafers) that I've never stopped to examine them further.

I've been waiting for those to come up on ebay for a couple months now although my hope is diminishing of the 1 model coming up being the color and size i want.

I don't understand how this model can exist yet no one in the world seems to carry them other than a reseller on ebay. They aren't even on the C&J product list.

If you are a 9.5us and want to let them go cheap just let me know

Who was it that wanted button boots on the main forum? I can't tell if these are decent or not, they all look about the same to me.
