Seller also has them in 12EE and listed a bunch of shoes today: SF, Tods, TBNY, Gucci, Prada... Most of the descriptions I've seen are wrong so look at the pics.
Jeez, it just never ceases to amaze me how poorly some sellers display their wares. The one shoe in that picture looks as if a large heavy box has been sitting on it, with the vamp bent all out of shape! For the price being asked, how hard can it be to slip a pair of shoe trees into them so they look their best? It would seem like just basic good business practice to display your products in the best possible light. I've had this same thought many times in the past with sports jackets, for example, laid out flat on the floor, draped on a sofa, or hung on very narrow hangars so that they droop and look lame. Anyway, those really do look like nice shoes, but the price seems too high to me. Of course, you could start out at the $694.99 listed as the opening price and hope no one bumps it up to $695 which is the BIN price.

This auction disgusts me on so many levels. First of all, I love this Zegna's and wish they were my size. Second, if you are going to ask this much money for shoes, shouldn't your pictures be a bit better. Third, spend $12, get some shoe trees and put them in there!! Why would anyone spend $700 on shoes that look deformed. Lastly, the description is all of 15 words. Lazy, lazy, lazy. These are Zegna's top end shoe, 9EE would probably fit a 10D and I think the $1300 retail is actually lower than the true retail.

Zegna auction decried above also has some tasty copywriting.

Seller is attempting to say that they were only worn in the store.

The word used? "Shopworn."

Does anyone know if there's a GVH coupon floating around? I could, in theory, talk myself into buying them if I used one.

I have a 10% off, but it requires a $500 purchase.

Oh well. One like last time's 15% off coupon would have pulled trigger for me. Thanks for checking though.

Franco's has put several Martegani models on closeout. Warning, there are very limited sizes:

That's a useful heads-up, Andrew. Just one small thing about Martegani sizing: Make good and sure before ordering what the numerical size designates--US or Euro size. The size stamped on the shoes is, in my experience, not the US size, but probably Euro, and it's important to know what size Franco's is talking about in their listings. It might not be a bad idea to request a measurement of the insole length just to be sure, if Franco's will provide it.

FWIW, I've bought 2 pairs of Martegani's from Francos and they were both marked with the correct US size. Be aware that the 3B last runs a bit large though.

Am I missing something or Franco's site does not provide any information on the shoes (last, model etc.) other than actual pictures and in some cases not even a picture of the shoe he is selling?

It might be the last. My normal size is 9.5 US, but Ron Rider fit me with a pair of Martegani wholecuts on the 3B last and a size 8 1/2 stamped on the sole (which I have assumed was Euro or UK). The fit is pretty good, although maybe just a hair large, so that I'd equate them to a US 9.5 or possibly 10. The insole length is 11.65".
