Cool Shoes, Paraphernalia & Desiderata - Page 173

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=170052622460 From the creasing I'm sure this is cordovan, but the listing does not describe it as such, so maybe someone on here can get a steal? I'd try but the seller does not ship to Canada (and ignored my request for confirmation of that ).

Yep, if you are looking for a black monk. That is one of the wider Tramezza lasts. Not that it is wide, but it is not as tapered as some of their other shoes. Also, it will look better in person as good black leather is hard to photograph

Thanks, I have a pair of these but in cap toe/no medallion, not tramezza and they are the only pair of shoes I've received two compliments on.

I don't think those are shell. Calfskin (AE merlot color) imo.

If those Tramezza are your size, they are great shoes ($700+ retail) and you will be hard pressed to find a better deal than $250.

It kills me to post this but these are some of the nicest Mantellassi's I've seen (9.5) and this guy has wonderful shoes for everyone. Incredible Lidfort loafers, nice Greens, Bettanin's. I'm just so depressed

P.S. his hugo boss boots are Crockett & Jones if anyone cares.

Is it me or are a disproprionate amount of Tramezzas monkstraps? Also, how wide is a Tramezza in EE width, in say, a size 11? Is it going to be enormously wide, or just a bit wider than a normal last since they are normally slightly narrower, right?

IMO.
The nose of the shoe has a slump instead of a little rise, which would have looked better.
The tip of the shoe lacks definition it is neither pointy nor round nor square. Also the tip of the monk looks soft from that picture.
On top of all that the heal height is all wrong and throws shoe out of proportion.
And last but not least this shoe should have been either just a cap-toe shoe or just a monk with medallion.

Granted, I have no idea what I'm talking about, but are these not cordovan creases?

The bits on these remind me way too much of CBRs used in piercing:

You think he shopped at the Barneys sale?

Those Mantellassi are very nice. Are they a true 9.5? All his other shoes are small sizes The Mantellassi suede monks are very nice. Aaah... so many shoes, so little $...

I think it's just you. And yes, Tramezza EE is like a regular E. Their D widths tend to be very narrow.

No, calfskin. Cordovan does not crease so much as it rumples so you don't have the small wrinkles you see there.

That is a bad pic of the shoe and the nose. The heel height is not an issue, it's no different than just about every other shoe. The cap-toe/medallion issue is obviously subjective, I am not crazy about the captoe and medallion together either.

Here are three Tramezzas and only one is a monk. I also have a brown calfskin captoe and a dark brown suede captoe Tramezzas, both are lace ups.

Actually, his stuff seems to be from Louis Boston. Those sound like a 9.5 but since they are US sized maybe I can squeeze in them, let me go measure my Mantellassi (everyone stay away from these boots for now )

P.S., he also has size 9 Lattanzi whole cuts for only $1k
