Actually I take that back, there's a lot worse out there. But this design is so incongruous with the alligator. Looks horrible.

Those Edward Greens are horrible too. Anyone who buys those is stupid. I wouldn't let my cat pee in them. It looks like someone else's already has.

But how do you really feel about them? Come on, don't be shy....

Polo on Ebay.
A few "Tellman" lace-ups went for 202.00 and one for 147.00 in size 8 and 7.5
Saw Autumn-Winter EG collection at RL store, they look awful. All lasts look completely cylindrical like a large vortex on your foot(in that Allen Edmunds mutant of English shoes look). Sides of the shoes are so high and round I thought they were one of the ugliest shoes I have seen.
Last year (spring?) collection that is currently offered by Grapewinehill looks almost like it have been manufactured by completely different shoe company.

Ugly saddles at that.

I just snagged a pair of black Camdens (by the way, agree with you about the pulchritude of black and metal) for $305.

What do you consider a better pairing with alligator? I don't get exotic-skin shoes at all, so they nearly always seem odd to me.

Single-thick sole, for starters.

They can work on a round toe or a more chiseled toe, but either way the last has to be sleek. For exotic skins to work, the design has to be very refined. The shoe cannot be clunky. These Allen Edmonds are clunky. It's a great design for shell cordovan or pebble grain calf. Horrible for exotic skin, in my opinion.

Size 9 Stefano Bemer captoes. Nothing that is going to make you run down the street screaming naked but I'd buy them for $200 if I needed these.
