Any info would be much appreciated!

I'm a 10.5 US, and the 10.5 Barksdales fit me fine. The last, in general, is narrow however (if memory serves, it's the 101, but I could be wrong).

Now you're talking about a nice monkstrap - far better than the Camden imo. Also added some black captoes I've never seen - Pierson

I sent an email asking if they could switch the 10 to a 10.5, but for some reason there's a $200 price differential. If they don't let me switch, I don't think it will matter too much.

Just bought RLPL Carters (EG Ectons) for $490, including shipping.

Hmmm, sz 13, right Ambulance Chaser? I ordered them in that size too, a few minutes ago. I wonder if they had two pair, or of one of us is going to get polo.com'd?

Anyways, I was being a very bad boy. I SWORE I would not touch this lot of EG's, but I've been looking for a good deal on a Dover or variation, preferably in dark oak, for at least three years... If this deal goes through, I will have to sacrifice something nice from my wardrobe

I'm thinking the Camden in black could look pretty rockin' with denim.

You're right, but do you really want to pay EG prices, even ebay prices, for black shoes? IMO, the antiquing is the most compelling reason to buy EG shoes and that's missing with black.

Thankfully, there are no Grants listed in my size, so my decision not to buy remains easy....

I tend to think black shoes are underappreciated around here. I love brown, and the subtle shadings that come with it, but the contrast of black and metal on a monk can be superb, too. Great for going out at night.

I found them tight, but I have a wider than average foot.

Black Captoe Basic from Shipton & Heneage

Very attractive price for a staple.

Precisely why I bought it.

and I like brown shoes too. Yesterday I wore a pair of black wholecuts - C&J made for Gordon Scott. Very nice, very comfy. Today I'm wearing a pair of AE Grayson loafers in black. Sleek, shiny and comfy. Oh, and as for EGs - I have two pairs: Dover in black Malvern in brown and if Fedex tracking is anything to go by, then on the 6th I'll have a tan suede pair of Mackays and a black pair of Camdens.
