Nice Zegna Couture (Mantellassi?) 3-eyelet plaintoe bluchers. Seller claims they are made by SF, but he also thinks they are brogues

I have those chukkas, as does Soph, I think. They are very, very sweet. They look much better in person. The leather and last are awesome. If they were my size I'd pick up another pair.

Got 'em! They look great. Thanks, EL72! They seem to measure a little generous, and should fit my 9-9.5 foot.

Great, enjoy! I hope they work out for you. I have seen a number of those for sale on eBay but never in my size (9.5W), some as low as $149 but $188 is definitely a good price. I believe quite a few SF members in addition to Ed and Soph have them.

I wonder how they do this:

They are crafted with the Ferragamo Tremezza construction process which enures a proper and comfortable fit from the first time you wear the shoes and ensure durability.

I guess you don't even have to worry about correct sizing!

Word.

Those are not Tramezza. The soles don't even look like Ferragamo soles. If they are Tramezza, they are some very early model. Also, the last is ugly.

Either Russia Calf doesn't hold up very well over time or these shoes were not well cared for (or both).

Well, as the hides managed OK under mud for 200 years, I'd imagine these shoes didn't get much polishing or other care.

I think it would be kind of interesting to have them repaired a la Berluti's Piercing collection -- you could have scarified Russia Calf shoes. How neat is that? Or Rapiece-Retouche-Russifie darned shoes.

Hmm... Those don't look too elegant. The leather almost looks like it was worked over with a meat tenderiser. Ok, obligatory /. reference; in Soviet Russia, the calf makes you purchase the brogue shoe from its hide. Or something like that.
