[quote=RJman]Vote4Tom is back, my G-d (not banned). Anyone want to start a pool on when the shoes ever actually sell (and the sale goes through)?
I don't know about a pool, but I say he does not have a completed sale on Ebay for more than $1000.
I think a few weeks ago the bidding got to about $875, and it didn't meet his reserve. He was crazy not to take the $875, if it was a legitimate offer! He's all over the map with his start prices and his Buy It Now prices. This time he's starting at $3,000 with a Buy It Now Price of $7,000. Last time he had a Buy It Now of $10,000! He even changes his shipping costs.
Note that, in his ad, he features pictures of George and Laura Bush, Prince Charles and Camilla, Winston Churchill, The Duke of Windsor and Abraham Lincoln. And of course he plays up his "Proud Father of a US Marine" connection. Quite a cornucopia!
Perhaps he should get spiritual. Maybe include images of Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed in his ad. And show those prophets in Lobb Boots! Whatever it takes. After all, this is a guy that made the bulk of his money in a sexual discrimination case against the US Postal Service! I guess he would have went "Postal" against the USPS if they didn't pay him off.
I wonder what these Ebay ads are costing him? A Harris are you out there? What is an estimate of his seller costs for repeatedly running his Lobb ad with a high start price?
Getting back to what started me. Compare the 1890's Selz Victorian boots for a $189.00 Buy It Now to his 1922 "Priceless Lobb Boots" for a $7,000 Buy It Now!
