Laugh if you like, but when wearing a kilt at a Scottish Ball, whether on Skye or in London, this is the proper formal attire. You would wear black tie with these. The laces form a diamond pattern on either the white, or Argyle "socks."

Needless to say, the toughest men in the world (Scots) have worn these and yes, some of them were/are probably gay. Heed ye!

The SZO (which looked like a handwritten "520") last in Bris' was also used in some of the shoes EG made under the Peal name decades ago, as seen on Jun Kuwana's old site. Nothing looks like that in the ebay shoes you post. I don't claim to know every Green last, but I'm aware of more than most people on the forum. Enlighten us.

The shape of the cutout looks like those on some more recent Grenson Masterpieces, and for some reason, I think I've seen 2695 mentioned as a Grenson last but can't verify that. Nor do those shoes look entirely like Grenson to me. I also have never heard of Grenson making for RL, although it wouldn't be shocking.

RJ, what about the medallion? While I'm clearly not as knowledgeable as you and others are about EG, I've never seen that particular medallion on a shoe other than an EG. Here, compare with this Asquith: http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/8..._808_black.jpg

I agree, seeing him wearing shoes is weird. However I dig those shoes.

Grenson uses a medallion.

If they're unworn except for a carpet try-on, why doesn't he just take them back to the store? Were these on sale for less than $325? Surely not.

^ My thoughts exactly. By my account they were ~$100 more than that during the sale, not to mention the ruinous eBay fees...

if the sale is over or not generally known, perhaps he's trying to make a profit.

Are we sure he purchased them from the Polo sale?
^But that would require him to sell them for more than the sale price. Is he expecting heated bidding with the economy in the state it's in? Why not start them at least at the price he paid?

I agree. However, I stopped buying used shell cordovan shoes because the creases always cut into my foot. Anyone else experience that?
