Which, I think, makes them a bit overpriced.

EDIT: OTOH, 25% off makes them 230 or so, which is a little better. And the two-piece tongue is one of the factors that suggests shell to me. But Tony, I'm curious to hear why you say they're calf.

In fact, whoever posted them originally called them calf.

Considering what some Germans et al. pay for used/new vintage longwings, the asking price is not too out of line IMO, though I would never pay it myself.

Actually, the listing describes them as calf. I believe the seller knows his stuff, he's sold quite a few NOS Florsheims, etc... They're dope; if they were my size, I'd consider using the BIN. With live cashback bringing the price to about $230, it should be a no brainer! I can't think of any shoes on my current wishlist which can be had for $300 (or $230 for that matter). Add to that the odds of stumbling on another pair of Nettletons like those; as far as I'm concerned, rare NOS usually justifies paying a slight premium.

I know most of you guys wouldn't touch a pair of cole haans with a stick, but, could you teach me about the goods or wrongs of this pair of boots (Cole Haan Russel Chelsea). Opinions about the construction, leather quality? Good deal for USD 90? At least they're not glue jobs...

The last ... Hobo shoes. Do not want.

how do you know they arent glue jobs?

Well... because of the sole stiching I think that was a sign of a better construction

I'm learning about this, so, if you want to contribute by teaching me something about this matter, thks.

Whilst we are being schooled on Cole Haan, could you guys please school me on this:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=280286010101

I'm in Australia and as far as I know, we don't have Cole Haan anywhere here, certainly not where I am from (Brisbane). I like the look of these, and feel as though I could wear them casually with pants or seersucker shorts etc. They certainly look better than anything on the Australian market that I can find but are they not recommended by you gentlemen?

thanks

I'll probably get bashed on these Canali's, but doesnt seem like a bad deal with the 25% cashback, imo. ($225 shipped)
