Vintage Weejuns in what appears to be brand new condition - side 10.5D. Notice the classic all leather heel with no rubber toplift, and the lack of the plastic shine....

I LOVE that look. Does Dunhill/New and Lingwood still sell the style new, or is it discontinued?

And Kabert, if I didn't know that you were my size and would snatch them up yourself, I'd have you point me to the next pair you see....

New & Lingwood sells it on their website.

Aportnoy and Duveen, as the RJman notes, New & Lingwood do have a shoe that's a dead ringer for this in their classic line (available in chestnut and black)--and which runs about 214 GBP ex VAT (about $375 US plus shipping). My intelligence sources tell me that the classic-line N&L shoes are by C&J and made to their regular-grade standards (what we call "benchgrade"). Last summer N&L had a sale that ran for at least two months and included classic-line shoes. My recollection is that they were reduced to something on the order of 155 GBP, or about $272 US plus shipping.

Paul Stuart advertised butterfly loafers the last time I checked their website. I believe they're still made by Grenson, but I can't comment on their construction (Masterpiece quality or not) since I haven't seen them first-hand.

They are masterpiece. I hope Bennies will get them (fingers crossed!)

I was just in the store yesterday and they didn't have them, sigh. They also didn't have anything in a lighter colored oxford. Disappointed.

I have the same hopes. Perhaps they weren't in the store when Andrew checked because they had to be returned and are making their way to Bennies, even now....

Now that's my kind of rationalizing...
