The only two pairs that would fit me the rat bastard wants 1K, I'm not that ......................yet.

I'm pretty tempted by those although I would have prefered them in the reddish color I've seen in photos. What do you guys think? Yes or no on the styling? Will i regret it in a couple years?

Let me put it to you this way. If I could afford it and they were my size I would buy them IMMEDIATELY. I seel little on them that could be considered "out there."

'aight? Respekt! (I cannot seem to get Ali G out of my head now for some reason)

Ditto. Except the Ali G part. He sucks.

Those shoes are gorgeous.

And I though I was the only one here not taken with Ali G . I mean he is not that bad but he does grate on me a bit after a while.

too much detailing on that shoes.

I really wish those Bonafe button boots were in my size. I definitely think that style of shoe is my list for a future MTO or first bepoke purchase. Of course, they would be brown, preferrably a chestnut.

Interesting mismatched pair of Lobbs. http://cgi.ebay.com/JOHN-LOBB-LUXURY...QQcmdZViewItem Apparently not the prestige line and at $699 and not even a pair! The seller had them offered previously at a BIN of $599 and a relatively high reserve with a low starting bid that only progressed over the initial listing to $302. I had pmed him saying I might be able to wear the mismatched pair (I wear 8.5E in JL and do have a slightly larger left foot) but wanted to meet him (we both live in Scottsdale) and try them on. If they fit I was willing to go the BIN price. He never responded. When he relisted at $699 with OBO I again emailed him with less enthusiasm since he was non responsive before and again offered to meet him and try them on and than give him a OBO on the spot. He finally replied saying that he wanted the $699 and was unwilling to meet and infact indicated he was looking for someone that would not notice that the shoes were mismatched. Additionally I had pointed out that the sizes are not a US 8.5E (wide) as he had before and has again listed, but are UK sizes more equivalent to 9/9.5D. He continues to list them as a US 8.5 wide. All this makes me highly suspect that there are issues with the shoes in additon to the obvious 2 different sizes. But if someone has two different sized feet and is willing to pay close to retail for shoes with an uncertain pedigree from a most suspect seller...here they are. On a somewhat related note while searching Ebay I noticed a seller that has a large number of single shoes without mates and rather than mix and match sizes as this seller does, he was advertising the shoes as Amputee shoes! And selling one from a pair. Ebay is becoming such a joke, except that it is not all that funny sometimes. Perry

Wow. He sounds like right bastard. I doubt he would not lose a dispute if he did sell mismatched pairs withiout explicitly stating it.

They do look like masterpieces.

A grenson 11 UK is probably a US size 12 - grenson runs big. I wear a 10.5D in AE, and have a 9.5F Masterpiece that still fits a tad loose (or maybe it is in my head). I have a 10E Footmaster that I wear with thick socks and a Dr. Scholls innersole to reduce the space. So I'll say that the difference between a US size and Grenson size is a full size, using AE's non-park avenue lasts as the standard for US sizing.

Crap. I just bought a pair of Grenson masterpiece (or msterpeice-like) monks in size 10UK and I'm a 10.5 US. Hope they are not too big when I get them. I guess there is always the sales forum

You may find that is the case. I own one pair of Grenson boots in UK10, they are a little loose at the heel but not that uncomfortably so. If I recall correctly we both wear approximately the same size in shoes.

Hmm, pictures are a bit fuzzy, but there doesn't seem to be any stitching and the vamp stretches quite far back along the shoe. Given this, I think they're the "Kent" model from Grenson's new range of shoes (and so not Masterpieces, despite the closed channelled soles). Toe shape seems to be a bit more chiselled though, so I may be wrong, or may be a different last.

I always wanted these boots and EG had stopped producing them. They had some technical difficulties with the design and had decided "No More!". (I'm sure it wasn't the bestseller in the EG catalogue). I even tried to appeal to Hilary Freeman, no luck.

So when Kuwana offered them for sale, I snapped them up.
(Size 8 / 8½ E, last 89)

I took a look of the Herrick boot picture in the pictorial index thread, is that yours? The Herrick looks very similar to the City boot produced for Asprey (except the City has one strap vs. Herrick has 2), what's so difficult to produce? If they could produce City I don't why not Herrick.
