I'll bet there were dozens of excellent Made in America shoes in the 1950s and 1960

I have two pairs of vintage NOS Walk Overs... the leather is exceptional and they shine like glass.

I'm still surprised no one bought these C&J for Tom James bals when they were listed in B&S. Now they're on eBay for $260 BIN. U.S. size 10.

Cheaney jodhpur boots, stamped size 11.5. These have had some wear, but they're only $65 BIN. Bet they'd clean up nicely. But you might want to ask for a better aerial shot of the toe shape.

New in box Polo cordovan loafers in size 11D. $449 BIN or best offer.

Hot C&J chelsea boots in UK 10.5E for less than $330 shipped to the U.S. Sweet beechnut color. I'd totally buy 'em if they were my size.

A lovely pair of black Ferragamo Tramezza captoe monks, that look to be in NIB or near NIB condition. $93 at present with no reserve, and a finishing time of 18:30 on 26 October. http://cgi.ebay.com/Salvatore-Ferrag...1%7C240%3A1318 If they were brown instead of black, I'd be bidding on them...

I don't usually jump for used shoes, but even I couldn't resist this kind of bargain. Maybe I'll rehabilitate them and do a flipperoo. C&J or Sargent?

Funky Martegani alligator boots. Size 9. New Martegani Venetians from Ron, size 11.5. $75 BIN. Ron's milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. Sometimes I wish I could wear a top hat. English-made shoe horn in real antler horn. Unusual folding travel hanger with built-in clothes brushes. Pair of handsome mid-century brushes. Very 1950s. Now begins the parade of shell: Alden monks in shell, size 9D, with an opening bid of 99 cents. Seller says these AE Park Aves are shell in the auction listing, but not in the header. Size 10.5D for $175 BIN. I can't see a shell stamp on the sole and they have an all-rubber heel, but they look like shell in the pics. If they are shell, it's a great buy, especially with the Microsoft cash back offer. If they aren't shell, it's still a pretty good deal for essentially new Park Aves. If bidding doesn't take off, bet you could buy these Florsheims in shell, clean 'em up, take better pics and flip 'em for a profit. Opening bid is $4.99, and the auction title doesn't even mention Florsheim. Nifty to look at but pricey to buy: Vass Budapesters in shell.

$130 for good as new Park Aves is a pretty solid deal, whether or not they're shell. That said, I'd go into this expecting calf and prepared to be pleasantly surprised if they turn out to be shell.
