+1

I have a pair of Walk Over shoes that I found as NOS. They are not 100 years old! But are probably from the 1960s or thereabouts. Their quality is excellent and is about Florsheim quality of that era and below Alden quality. I'll photograph them tonight if I can.

I'll bet there were dozens of excellent Made in America shoes in the 1950s and 1960s. I shudder to think when I realize we might one day we might be saying something like the above about Made in America cars and electronics.

But as my friend Jlibourel says. That's one of the advantages of being more "mature"! I'll probably be gone when it happens.

Just a little note: Walk Over was manufactured by the George Keith Shoe Co. in Bridgewater Mass.
The company did alot of private label making for Cole Haan,Nordstrom's,Polo to name a few.
They closed down in the late 1990's and now the building is a storage facility.
Anyone got any Nettleton's

Well-photographed English-made homburg. Almost convinces me I could pull it off. I'm still surprised no one bought these C&J for Tom James bals when they were listed in B&S. Now they're on eBay for $260 BIN. U.S. size 10. Cheaney jodhpur boots, stamped size 11.5. These have had some wear, but they're only $65 BIN. Bet they'd clean up nicely. But you might want to ask for a better aerial shot of the toe shape. New in box Polo cordovan loafers in size 11D. $449 BIN or best offer. Hot C&J chelsea boots in UK 10.5E for less than $330 shipped to the U.S. Sweet beechnut color. I'd totally buy 'em if they were my size. This Brigg cane has a concealed level and ruler. Anyone know why? I've seen umbrellas and canes with pencils, swords and flasks, but a level and ruler?

Maybe it once belonged to a mason, free or otherwise...
