Interesting RL Purple Label fedora, size 7 1/4 in chocolate brown. Looks like it is new with tags, with a starting price of $125 and a BIN of $142.05. Auction finishes June 18 at 14:12. http://cgi.ebay.com/295-RALPH-LAUREN...QQcmdZViewItem

And I don't understand posting items for sale and not responding to PMs re: the items for sale. I'm sure that's a strategy not many would employ, but to each his own. There will always be mysteries in this world...

Girls, girls...

The one reason why I place an early bid (I also always snipe at the end) is so that the seller does not get anxious (especially the ones that do not know the true value of their items) and make a side deal off ebay. I used to happen to me all the time when I was buying and selling vintage watches on ebay. You'd find a great piece that the seller obviously had no idea what it was, very low opening bid, you set your snipe and wait and then the dreadful "seller ended this listing early because it is no longer for sale". An item can still be sold under you even with a bid, but most sellers are very reluctant to deal off ebay once there is a bid.

Yes, sometimes I'm the insidious individual who will email the seller for an early purchase.

Do you still do that on eBay, vintage watches I mean?

I'll do the lowball bid too, especially if the seller seems clueless. But I still snipe at the end. So if you bid against me early and become the high bidder for only a quarter or 50 cents, look out!

At first I though you were getting at me, but I don't have any PMs from you so I don't know what you talking about.

Not anymore, about 10 years ago there were great arbitrage opportunities available in vintage watches, some magnificent watches were to be had for very cheap. I look at the prices now of many watches I bought and sold back then and I wish I had held on to them.

EG mavens, is this likely US or UK sizing? Also, a decent bang for the buck? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=250255976623

Sigh... SAB golf umbrella with interesting canopy. Price is not far off new, but SAB items tend to go high on ebay anyway. BIN.
