For some reason I really like that shirt...

The shirt reminds me of the famous artwork 'The Great Wave' by Hokusai.

It looks like a Bond movie title sequence.

I might be interested depending on the measurements...

Today I went to another estate sale. I got a very large old solid tortoise shell; several NWT Scottish cashmere sweaters (retail $750 each) for $2; Leica and Rollei filters, etc. for $1; a pair of bespoke wooden shoe-trees; three high-end vintage briar-wood pipes; and a copy of the Moonstone. There were also several very high-end women's crocodile skin pumps from the '60s for $20.

We all know that you bought them.

Today, I picked up an assortment of decent things at my (now)favorite thrift store; strange enough, the one piece I really like is a lowly (by this forum's standard) E.T. Wright made in USA black bal w/ subtle broguing. Not bad for 5 bucks, I think.

Totally missed a 'huge estate sale' (per the ads) right at the other end of my street, somehow.

A Brioni suit in top condition (summer Navy) for AUD50 and a seemingly unworn men's navy B Celine (made in Italy) from Italian linen suit for AUD16.

What does a Celine suit sell for in the real world?

I picked up a few things today, but I'll report later when I take some pics.

I have no use for such items; however, the skins were of top quality, the type of crocodile that Hermes uses for their bags and such. It was somewhat saddening seeing how these shoes were probably cared for when the widow was alive and now they were just askew in their boxes, stuck in an old carport. Everything from the bedrooms was moved from upstairs into a large decrepit carport, and you how boisterous upper middle-class housewives shopping for vintage goods can get and so the place became a mess in an instant, crocodile skin shoes lying about while old hatboxes, beaded evening gowns, silk scarves and mink coats lay about like a Goodwill collection center. When you die, you die, that's it.

Picked up a Brooks sportcoat and an old Brooks whale tie, playing around with my torso form. I'm still getting things figured out. It will get better.



I got a Brooks evening shirt (fold down collar and pleated front) and a great pair of Orvis tweed outdoorsy cargo type pants:
