@GMMcL = Master of waterfowl, foulard, and what have you.

Was hoping to hit the thrifts today, but the 10" of snow from last night plus the ice underneath the snow coating all the roadways is keeping me in. I don't think it'd be worth it to find a couple ties and then end up in the ditch.

Did you pick up the Dunhill for yourself or for resale? I passed on an orphan jacket the other day and wonder if I should pick it up the next time around?

Opted for the $20 Levis instead.

All denim breaks in eventually. I had a pair of their Elephant 2 at 22 oz. They broke in after a month of wear. If you cop one and it feels uncomfortable, wash them to get rid of the starch. You can wash raw denim. It is not a sin as long as you don't put them in the dryer.

Some people are cool with investing a lot per item, but I don't really like to and would probably leave that piece.

I have found and sold some that say Bench Made in England that have the same writing inside as Cheaney but the heel pattern and details are the same as my Crockett & Jones. So my conclusion was that they were farmed out to Cheaney by Crockett & Jones.
Have any pics?

Maybe will try some heavy denim Naked and Famous jeans if you promise my wife won't disown me and I won't look like a 57 year old hipster wannabe!

Thanks for the information! It's beginning to sound like every English maker has had their hands on them at some point.

Here are a couple of pictures, they're going to be on their way to me, so I don't have the inside markings unfortunately.

^^^^ That sole looks a lot like some used on Crockett Jones for Polo. Inside markings will help a lot. Nice looking boots either way.
