Been had NWT Armani Collezioni shirt, size 18 (I think) and some Majer chocolate flannel pants for me

Anyone a size 11D in AE's that wants / needs some black captoes, black medallion captoes, and black wingtips? They're all in meh shape and would take a good amount of work, but I'll proxy if you want 'em.

Got this vintage T&A coat today. Pick stitching all over the thing. Ticket pocket. Wool & mohair. Paid more than thrift, less than eBay prices. 38L. Not available at the moment...

I've come to the realization that the only time I purchase items off of ebay, is when I want something bad and just can't wait to find it in a thrift. Case in point, I bought a pair of BB patchwork madras pants this summer because I couldn't wait to find them in a thrift. I know that one day I WILL find a pair, just like one day I will find something else I've been lusting after. I'm a firm believer that almost anything you've ever wanted, besides cars and such, can be found at a thrift, you just have to be there when it hits the floor.

I should add, not two days later, Horsesass sold me a pair of 70's PRL plaid madras pants with side tabs and all, so.......

Not with standing my earlier comments about avoiding shirts because of thin margins, I am still picking up RGs. Three this week, heading for the bay tonight:

I was never into the Locust, but Justin Pearson's current project, All Leather, is pretty great. Best show I saw in 2010.

Also

I was pretty excited to find a reversible Moncler jacket yesterday, but by the time I hit the parking lot, the fleece lining and velcro pocket closures had me second guessing my purchase. Anyways, here are the details on what I pretty much confirmed is a fake...unless anyone else knows otherwise:

1000

1000

1000

The sad thing is, I pulled it from the racks because it had a higher quality feel to it. Judging by the guides I've found online, they did a decent job on the logo patch, but the nylon chord cinch and velcro give it away (as I can't find any current legit models with either). Searches for Husky/Trevira tag lead to a website selling a similar Moncler jacket in Japan priced at ~$250. So, nothing to brag about, but I enjoy seeing the fakes sometimes too.

In my younger days, I used to be into the Locust pretty heavily. I liked the Swing Kids quite a bit, but that was actual music. The Locust were just an oddity. It's not real music. Before they started wearing costumes, I saw them at MichiganFest and Justin Pearson ate a piece of ceiling tile. Saw them a couple years later and the crowd started urging the band, via chant, to play "The Half-Eaten Sausage Would Like to See You in Its Office." Quite aways a way from "PLAY FREEBIRD."

Sorry for the crappy instore photography.

All passes this morning, but I'm willing to go back. Two suits, each of which I would have bought if there were in my size or if I wanted to get involved with ebay, which I don't.

Anybody a 46 XL? (Seems like someone is, but I can't find my notes.)
Jack Victor suit, small houndstooth pattern, very soft. content tag in the trousers was 40 XL. I snapped a couple of pics. Jacket is 2 button, single vent.

Click through thumbs if interested

The next one has a couple of issues. One - it is fused. Two - it has pretty bad sweat stains in the trousers waist band, and anything else that was white inside (pockets, whatever). Seriously, a lot of sweat stains. Maybe a little of the same on the collar of the jacket. That said, you can forgive a guy for sweating when he's wearing a three piece tweed suit, patch pockets, action back, belted back (belt isn't real, just sewn on). This thing is cool, and if anyone is willing to take a chance on what the cleaners can do and live with a fused suit, this would be awesome to rock. 43 R. It looks like in my hurry I didn't take an all over pic. Sorry about that. The very last pic is of one of the vest pockets. All these are clickable.

It had no name in it. jacket is 2 button, single vent. I'm happy to go get either of them for a regular. Shoot me a PM, I'll try to respond tonight.

I've never been especially fond of the Norwegian stuff. Too, uh, dark. And, from a recording standpoint, it is all too lo-fi/muddy. Swedish metal, on the other hand...

Yeah, I liked some of those Swedish metal bands. I did like Bathory when I heard it. Lake of Tears were good, as was a band called Opeth.

Therion are a band I dig also... actually I really dig Therion!!!!!

While we are on the subject of metal related sub genres, anyone into grindcore? We were trying to start a grindcore band a few years ago...

I remember Napalm Death back in the day.... song title called "twist the knife slowly", will never forget it

My Dying Bride and Anathema were bands I preferred in this genre although they may not qualify as "grindcore", perhaps slow paced death metal would be more apt.

Where the hell are you finding Burzum and Mayhem OG presses? Surely not in some record store in SF. If your thrift store prices are seeing outrageous price hikes, I can only imagine what the metal bin in Amoeba looks like....

Goodness no, old stock I had from days when I used to wheel and deal in the UK with LP's.

This:

Let's face it, this is why we all do what we do. This one got spotted and culled, but that doesn't happen every time. The cash/Viagra/codeine we've found in pockets, the shell Aldens for three bucks, the infamous Gucci croc loafers. If it was easy, everyone would do it. So quit whining about markups and the good old days and go thrift an Omega or some RLPL or some Edward Greens. They're out there.

Here's another: http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?itemid=11377685

Not much for me today clothes-wise (found some suede chukkas that fill a gap in my wardrobe and some Mezlan cap-toes for eBay fodder), but I did find this badass WWII map. This thing's going up in my recording studio!

Wow, this map is incredible. Only thing I found today were two Oxxford suits with damage...one of which I brought home before realizing it. Fuuuuuuuuu.
