Spoo, I could use your help authenticating these. Recent (unworn) Gucci monogram boots. I'm 99% sure they're real as they came from the same owner as the shoes below as well as a bunch of other high-end women's shoes that member Beck ended up with. Still, they just don't feel like $700+ boots.

Thought I had a real find on my hands today.

The Krasnogorsk-3 (K-3) is a really solid 16mm camera.

This one even came with the original case, all the accessories and even the papers and warranty (in Russian).
I gave it a quick check in the store and it wound and ran and the battery still powered the light meter.

But then I got it home. The focus was off. The lens cap was jammed onto one of the filters. I think it suffered a nasty knock or drop. Something in the lens is off kilter.

VVs in my area have a 7 day return on items but exchange only. I'm going to see if I can get the value of this put on a gift card. The big 1/2 price back-to-school sale is on Monday so it'll all work out in the end.

Had myself a decent day, though I left behind my first pair of Aldens due to very visible sharpie marks I wasn't confident I could remove.

Was this a worthy pickup? I know it's not the highest end Facconable, but it's a step above their basic stuff as far as the handwork goes.

Too many :fu: moments this week in only a couple stops. Following earlier in the week's orphaned Brioni find, I found my first pair of Incotex today only to find a hole in the back. Found a Hickey Freeman for Barneys missing the pants. Did come home with this which turned out just a little too big on me:

SD and AD parkas are incredible. I need to move to a more crunchy funky kinda place to see if I can score.

That is the highest end Faconnable I believe and that stuff is very well made. All ones I have seen have been fully canvassed bare minimally. It may also be worth a chunk of change so yes, well worth picking up.

I just saw a Versace Shirts Couture tag the other day. I assumed it was fake as well :)

Faker than a boob in a brothel.

Real...old? Worth anything?

Sorry Nat, but those are 75% fake. Ive never once seen that gold embossed font on a Gucci shoe, the leopard lining is totally inconsistent, and the stitching looks sucky.

One of the best posts ever! Absolute classic. Thank you. And speaking of ******** ones pants, I was flipping hangers as usual when I find this little guy checking out a pair of dockers;

So having the philosophy of live and let live, I let the grass spider have the pants and head toward the check out counter. I am checking out a few minutes later and hear this woman let out an amazing scream from the men's pants rack. She went on for several minutes and was still cussing and going ape **** about the spider as I was walking through the door. Not sure if the spider survived.

I find stuff in pockets all of the time while thrifting and quite a few obit folders. The best one was when I took my brother in law thrifting with me one day. He was looking at a sports coat and asked me to give my opinion. I picked up the jacket and was looking at the labels as I felt something in the pocket. Reached in and pulled out a five dollar bill! My brother in law still tells the story about making money thrifting. BTW, the jacket was $4.95 so we used the $5 to buy it, seemed like the right thing to do. . .
Holy **** bro, we're in the same stores from time to time, where the hell was that and i'll steer clear.

Dang! Thanks for saving me an eBay headache, Spoo. I paid $6 for them so I'm not out much, Just goes to show that even the rich buy fakes.... :rolleyes:

@acosbysweater

If it were an XS, I'd hit the high note, drop the mic and walk away.

We have all of the crunch and funk one could ever dream of. I think this is going to be a high water year for outerwear for me given that I've found 10 pieces I love just this summer.

Thanks for the heads up...I thought Facconable had one higher level made by St. Andrews or Sartoria Partenopea...is this Cantarelli?
