WHAAAT Dude do you have any idea what croc Tuczeks are worth?!?! Are you going to sell those?

Yes, and yes. :nodding:

I'm pretty sure they are 'gator, as the scales don't have the sensor pore (though I'm guessing you weren't being that specific).

They had them listed as "Tuckerz" shoes or somesuch, so my immediate thought was some crappy slap-together made for Payless, but I knew as soon as I saw the shoes themselves that they weren't your average-Joe pair. I didn't know anything about Tuczek, but thankfully they had a photo up of the insole so I could research the correct name. My head then asploded. Waiting to see if anyone else would recognize them and bid against me was torture.

ThinkDerm, I've been waiting until the fall when people spend more time in front of the computer before attempting to sell them. I'll have a more complete image set up in my Photobucket album maybe next week. I have a bunch of tweed jackets I want to photograph first. I want to take my time and do these right. I'll probably sell the 'gators first and hold on to the suede for a while.

While definitely being a nice vintage shoe, I'm not entirely certain they are Florsheim Imperials for a couple reasons:

1. The heel nailing. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't FLS Imperials have 2 rows of nails on the heel?
2. The sole. Imperials have 5 nails in the sole, 3 on one side and two on the other, near the waist. I don't see that in this picture, although when the soles become severely worn it's sometimes difficult to spot.

Here is an example of what I'm referring to:

Okay, someone catch me up on the last week. I saw the YSL rive gauche and the Tuczeks.

I hit one place in Atlanta but the only thing worth picking up was an 18 year old HF suit and they wanted $30, so I passed.

Also went to a bunch of high-end stores in Atlanta including Neiman Marcus and the Ralph Lauren store. The Kitons, Brionis, Zegnas, Isaias, Oxxfords, etc. at NM were boner-worthy, but the prices were insane. I didn't realize Kiton was 2x as expensive as the rest of them (like $6K for a sportcoat). Also hit up NM Last Call and there was a gorgeous Kiton suit there that had been MTM'd for someone and not picked up. It was marked at $3500 but I probably could have gotten it for $2500 because it had a loose seam on the shoulder and hadn't been selling. It was a bit too big for me though.

The problem with going to retail stores is I get tempted. I'm terribly, terribly tempted by this that I tried on at the RL store:

So what else has been going on here?

Thanks! That's good info. I didn't realize that others made shoes that similar, but it makes sense.

-edit-

I also just realized that they should have the "Florsheim Imperial" oval on the inner quarter that wouldn't wear away.

No problem man. Either way you picked up a very nice pair of shoes. If they fit, wear them. All those old gunboats can take a pretty good beating.

Picked these up today, just the pair I've been searching for, for the upcoming fall/winter. Too bad they're a 36. :cloud: Anybody have something similar in a 32 and the same quality/style they would like to trade? Preferably without a 26 inch rise? Not that these have a 26 inch rise, but most pants I come across in the thrifts, the rise is insane.
