Warning: Ebay / buying & Selling talk (Click to show)

So I was inspired by Spoo's Ferrari thing, and about saving this thrift money towards a specific goal, rather than just aimlessly purchasing more and more stuff. So...my new goal is to pay for college with thrifting money. I am 30 years old and recently decided to go towards a BSN in Nursing. I am still doing pre-reqs at community college and just made my first tuition payment of $427 with my paypal card linked to all of my ebay money. Pretty remarkable that this little bit of extra work can fund a crucially important part of my future!

I only post this because I figure putting it out there on the boards will make me a bit more accountable to this goal. Also, I wanted to post it as a thank you to the insanely valueable information I've recieved from these boards and the inspiration to keep on doing it!

Good going dude!. I have paid for mine 100% with my sell money. Paid off the 7th loan this morning. 1 more loan to go, will be paid in full in 3 weeks! 17.5 years early. Can't wait to have that monkey off my back. Been putting down $1000 a week on it for quite a while now.

If I can pay for even part of my med school apps and travel fees this way, then I'll be ecstatic!

50% off day at SA was quite enjoyable.

Cool jacket and vest combo from 1970.  Couple discreet moth holes, but for $6 I couldn't say no.  Color is brown with a tinge of green (need to find a damn camera).

I love it when these are actually filled out.

Basic Austin Reed for myself because I don't actually have a suit that fits yet.

Vineyard Vines NWT, Forsyth, Viyella by F.A. MacCluer, Robert Graham

2x Desert Boots - 1 pair Goretex and vibram.  Unfortunately the other set was my size.

Brand New:

My first shoe purchase.  I'm still clueless, but I think these are at least decent?

Vintage brown seer sucker vest and pant

And finally, some synergy: on the day my e-close-out FilsonxSebago's [I know you guys are split on opinion over them; I checked!] arrive on my doorstep, I find...

My first true filson

And didn't get this old Hugo Boss DB suit.  Tags in German.  Super 100's I think.  Is it worth anything at all?  Anyone want it?  Might pick it up as a costume...

And women's pendleton doesn't seem to matter much:

This tour was the first concert I ever attended. TLC opened, they drove onstage in little neon Shriner cars. I believe I wore inside-out overalls with one strap undone (not SF-approved).

I have a pair of these as well. Love the styling, but the leather leaves a lot to be desired; snapped one of the pull-tabs putting them one about a week after I got them.

So this is probably the only super interesting thing I've grabbed since that Harris Tweed Overcoat.

UNO Yachting Coat by Ellesse. Wooden Toggles + Velcro closures. The coolest thing, to me at least, is the drawstring closure/adjuster things. They are little rollers, almost like the strikers on Bic Lighters in a brass housing. I haven't been able to find out much about it other than that Ellesse is an Italian sportswear brand that isn't available in the US, so how it ended up in North Seattle, who knows?

No reason this should be spoilered, this is something to be proud of. Honored to be an inspiration, and good luck getting further past your goals!
