Pretty hard to believe shit like that was mainstream in 1967.

This is one of those interview edit records, right? Like the ones Weird Al used to do?

Edited to add: from a similar-ish era, if anyone stumbles across Firesign Theatre LPs I'm down to purchase/trade for them. Anything other than "How Can You Be In Two Places At Once" or "Don't Crush That Dwarf"

Today was a pretty decent day.

This was the highlight:

Guess who? (Click to show)

Size is ~36-37. I'm a 38 and it's a hair small on my sleeves and tight on the back. Sigh.

Available.

Look at dem stitches

And then the rest of the stuff

The rest of us. (Click to show)

Some harris Tweed (Size 42: Available)

There are 2-3 of these holes. Worth trying to trade or should I just return it?

Then there's this guy. Size 40 (possibly available)

Not damaged, but there's a little bit of pilling that needs to be taken care of. It's super soft.

These are from an E-Thrift (Click to show)

And a few others from in person thrifting.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

There's a stain on here which I think could come out with a good wash/bleach. Worth trying out or should I return?

Same story here, but this stain is pretty tiny.

Not sure about this brand. Worth a kop? Color is actually a deep navy.

Grabbed for me :)

Nothing too special about the next two shirts except that they're the same size and the blue/white stripe one is too short in the sleeve and the white one is fine. Go figure.

Oh wait, what's going on with the collar!

So how'd I do?

Also, that Lad Musician is an insane find! I stopped into their (tiny!) boutique in Shinjuku while in Tokyo a year or so ago. Amazing stuff but as you stated, the stuff runs insanely slim and is super pricey. I found a Lad Musician t-shirt once, and was pretty astounded to find it (especially at the thrift I found it at).

Your local bb will give you a replacement. Stop by.

I thrifted that exact same Hickey Freeman Jacket a couple months back but bigger and branded Lagerfeld (but it had the HF makers tag in it).

Zanella shirt is pretty cool. I've never seen one but their pants are relatively common, and sought after.

I think you did just fine, but you might keep the Gant, Jcrew, and Polo to yourself in the future. Or, you might not. Just saying that most here won't really be interested in it, or anything stained, unless it's super amazing stuff. Gant, Polo, and Jcrew, while pretty decent, are all over thrift stores.

Just my two cents. Feel free to take it or leave it.

:)

ridethecliche -

except for the things that you are keeping, if you bought to flip, you wasted all your money IMO.

The moth holes, the stains, are deal breakers. And thats on primo stuff most of the time. To be perfectly frank, if your things were in mint condition I would likely leave 99% of it. NWT even.

The "stitching" on the aquascutum is machine stitching - basically you are showing off its made cheaply like most other crap on the rack. That moniker has a bit more pull than the other items in your post, but its meh at best.

The RL pants you ethrifted are women's, and the lapels and pilling on the HF are just too dated to make it worth anyones while.

My best advice to you is to keep lurking and stop buying...else you will bankrupt yourself and have nothing more to show for your time and effort than a large pile to re donate before the 31st.

Hope this helps, meant in the best of intentions - dont think I sound imperious.

I thought the gant was a little more sought after than it seems to be so they'll probably go back in that case as they didn't quite fit. Their pockets are on the chest too which was a little weird tbh!

The J-Crew was mostly because of the collar. I was hoping to learn what the deal was. I've never seen a shirt like that before. Also, is it worth keeping the Harris tweed blazer in spite of the 2-3 holes like that?

Also, I thought the RL in script was blue label?

Same scenario here- went to shop I don't usually go to today. Quality finds from there in the past have been lackluster- right out the gate I find the lad. Completely blown away.

@ridethecliche - I would mimic what spoo said. Normally would pass on all of that- let alone if it has holes or stains.

@SpooPoker - Were these a good cop? Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Don't think so!
Google search seems to suggest that Blackbird used to stock it before they turned solely into an apothecary. Crazy to think how it probably was bought in japan- made it overseas and then somehow miraculously into my arms

Nope, you sound just fine! The risk is pretty low for me since the thrift store here takes returns. I try on most of the stuff at home and then give back what I don't use or what turns out to be meh. I'm confused about the pants being women's. That doesn't seem to add up based on the fit or the rest of the styling. Obviously, I defer to your experience.

What's annoying about that Lad find is that I was thrifting in metro Boston all day as well :)

Found like 5 recent Andover Shop ties, 2 NWT Rag & Bone Blazers, Recent Canali suit, Cantarelli for Faconnable suit, and a stone cold mint Armani Collezioni suit.  Current label Zegna Su Misura, Zegna ties, Mr. Sid shirt for me.  Orian shirt for me (seems to be a Yoox brand).  A few other pieces, but don't feel like taking pics now.

Possible that Alan Bilzerian stocked it at one point
