Good to meet you irl, Nataku. You and your wife both seemed insanely nice. Thanks for the hookup on that coat. Just tried it on and it fits me well. Might just hang onto that.

But yeah, new store was a bit of a bust. I'll head back soon and see if it gets some better stuff. Prices seemed reasonable at least.

Stopped by the other 2 nearby stores after and got a few bags of stuff. Cool Woolrich red chambray linen thing, new red/orange Gitman Bros gingham shirt, J Press coat that looks like it hasn't been worn, unstructured silk/cashmere Donna Karan coat that fits me, great Harris Tweed coat that I thought might fit but it didn't. Couple other things. Nothing earth-shattering but a much better haul than anything I've done in the last month or so.

Awesome, it was a really nice piece, I just have hay too many coats/jackets. Yeah, I hope things pick up there. I saw that red chambray Woolrich earlier today. Cool details like the cat-eye buttons. Debated picking it up but I have a similar shirt already. Glad you found it. cheers.gif

Made just one thrift stop in LA and left with a bunch of recent ties—Purple Label, Brioni, and the like. Also a Brooks tuxedo in my size. Thanks everyone for the tips—it felt good to get a little taste of the action down here. smile.gif

Also saw tons of crazy sw&d on consignment, designers I've never seen in person before, and spent some time drooling at Margiela, Saint Laurent, and other shops I can't afford. Now back to the sartorial wasteland of Utah.

Ahh, Utah... My mom keeps trying to lure me into visiting St George because everything is so cheap at the thrift stores...

Some more ties, though these seem a bit dated but I picked them up anyway.

First Sulka (x3), Luciano Barbera, BB

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

More recent ties: PRL Italy, Tyrwhitt, and a Talbott Girdle? Seriously is that what this is? Had to pick it up cause it was on the tie rack and only $2 and Talbott stuff seems decent.  cummerbund (thanks 1ofTCKs)

Baby Alpaca Sweater

Hugo Boss - Loro Piana NWOT Blazer  (couple tiny pinholes on left arm, but picked up anyway)

Ginormous Filson Safari Vest w/ Belt. There was an identical one as well, but w/o the belt so left it cause they are both recent made in china. Debating heading back to pick up the other, but the made in china thing has me thinking no.

Dry clean what you buy or throw it in the dryer on medium-high for 30 minutes.
