But I'll probably at least hem a bit of the length because they really are too long.

I don't know about proper cuffing techniques, but my guess is you just got pants that are too long for your size and/or aesthetic preference. Have you soaked them yet, though? They could lose some length after a hot soak.

Breaks the heart. On the plus side, I did find a very nice red Sulka tie at the GW down the street from my house.

Never been to that store, but I imagine I'll be hitting it up occasionally soon as I'll be student teaching at the high school over there next semester.

I decided I'd show off some of the e-thrifts once they arrived (as well as a couple of in-persons), shoes only for now, but more to follow!

Imperial shell PTBs that look like they were worn for about a week, 10D

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Alden shell bals for Barrie LTD. E-thrift from a while back. Need resoling and reheeling, but they're still epic. The uppers have a breathtaking patina in person. 10D

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Gamo kilties, 9.5D. Soles are a little thin, but they were like 5 bucks. eBay fodder.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

The $5.50 "ALDO" from a week ago.  8D

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

(posted while wearing my E-thrift babies, 1985 EG windsors for nordstrom)

Not polished yet, but I've been carpet bombing them with conditioner and the uppers have become sooooo soft :D

Hmm, never heard of the E6 thing. I've just always went by the last two numerical digits in the sequence.

Nice find!

laugh.gif I think I know what store you're referring to. If it's the one I think it is, I commend you for taking on such a task.

Wait....what? puzzled.gif

I'd be more inclined to pick up a suit with non-working cuffs as it's a lot easier to alter. I'd still pick up a Canali suit regardless if it was recent and in nice shape.

I was trying to figure that out too. Sort of like the mystery as to why my photos sometimes upload sideways or upside down.

Deets? Those look amazing!

By the way, I have that same Room & Board sofa in beige. cool.gif

Met another SFer today. Ran into MyMainMan at a Goodwill grand opening today. Super cool guy. Grand Opening was kind of a bust, though. Couple pairs of barely worn Allen Edmonds and a couple records. Meh. I did manage to get 4 helpings of cookies and sparkling apple cider though. lookaround.gif

Whoa! I have that same Room & Board couch too!

Good to meet you irl, Nataku. You and your wife both seemed insanely nice. Thanks for the hookup on that coat. Just tried it on and it fits me well. Might just hang onto that.

But yeah, new store was a bit of a bust. I'll head back soon and see if it gets some better stuff. Prices seemed reasonable at least.

Stopped by the other 2 nearby stores after and got a few bags of stuff. Cool Woolrich red chambray linen thing, new red/orange Gitman Bros gingham shirt, J Press coat that looks like it hasn't been worn, unstructured silk/cashmere Donna Karan coat that fits me, great Harris Tweed coat that I thought might fit but it didn't. Couple other things. Nothing earth-shattering but a much better haul than anything I've done in the last month or so.

^^ For Neiman, def over $1500, or around there. Easily in the $2500 range, depending on the age. Looks older, so probably not that much. Oh damn, my size too haha.

I'm a 40-42. And it's was hanging over
But I guess it's supposed to be worn with a suit not a t!

I picked up two brand new A/C units (window mount type). Bring on summer!

It's been so dry for me lately, nothing even remotely worth bragging about. On my way home today I made a quick stop by a place that never has anything - popped a recent label Brioni suit in my size. :slayer:
