Next thread derail:
Your opinion on the backlash Polo RL is receiving for manufacturing their Team USA opening ceremonies clothing in China.
IIRC, Polo sponsored the last team USA and made their clothing in China. Where was the outrage then? Where does Speedo make Michael Phelps' swimwear? Where are the bikes team USA will ride made? Where are those Nike running shoes our track team will wear made?
Politicians on both sides are now bashing RL. Personally, I'd like to see an inventory of their closets, houses, and garages for items made in countries other than the USA. All a bunch of ******* hypocrites.
At least this is clothing related...

Not a problem only in America. Spain's uniforms were not well-received by the Spanish public and that wasn't helped by the fact that they were designed (and presumably produced) by a Russian company.

It is hard for me to get outraged at Chinese clothing if I don't have to wear it. It outrages me that US Kraft MAc and Cheese has, like, 17 chemicals in it that UK Kraft Mac and Cheese doesn't because the Brits and other EU folks will not buy it unless certified to not have them. And that's not a beef with Kraft but a beef with the U.S. consumer. Ugh. *end rant.

Son of a beyotch. Mint, awesome Pendleton wool shirts everywhere for a few dollars. Can't resist. My closet groans. 95 tomorrow.

(Am I the only one who has ditched all flannel and lame other fat cotton shirts and replaced them with wool for the winter...Orvis, Pendleton, even a couple LL Beans et al...and I can't stop when other sweet ones pop up on the racks despite the air being thick as cheese out there?)

In my book, you're lucky to even be finding Pendleton wool anywhere in one piece. Every single shirt/jacket I've looked at been had by moth buffet.

Is that because of the climate where u are? Wool and tweed abounds here, especially in good brands because Yanks need it (it gets mf'n COLD here compared to socal) and know that crappy wool shirts fray in, like, 2 wearings.

I found my first pendleton tie a couple weeks ago. I thought that was cool, but one of our pals here told me it's squarely middle of the road as far as wool ties go

A couple meager finds yesterday.
3 Brooks Bros. Makers tie for my brother
J crew shirt, Cole Haan Belt and NWT PRL pants for myself

Today was a bit better. Nothing really fits me though, so all available. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get to measuring.

Left: 3 Gitman Bros.
Right: Barbour, (womens)Faconnablex2
The labels on the Gitmans looked fairly old. I recall someone (mexicutioner?) saying to go for Gitman Vintage and not vintage Gitman. Should I return these?

This one looked more recent than the others, and with MoP buttons. sz M

sz 15.5/32

sz 15.5/32

sz L

I picked these up because of the MoP buttons and because I liked the patterns, but I guess they're womens because of the buttons on the left.
MoP buttons, sz M

Smoky MoP sz M

Not really sure what to do with it. But for $5 I couldn't just leave it there.

I have ditched all my hoodies, sweatshirts, flannel shirts and grunge wear I used to have in favor of wool shirts and alpaca/wool sweaters. They look so much better and are warmer. And are thinner.

And my old stuff was looking ratty anyway. And trayvon got shot for wearing nicer stuff.

I kept one hoodie for going downstairs and lifting weights when it's 10 degrees or less outside...and my unheated basement dips into the 40s. And for camping. That's it.

Small world. Found the exact same one yesterday, except in a reddish-orange color. A friend who was with me worked at BR in the mid 1980s and he was pretty surprised to see it. He said they were made in about 5-6 different colors. Pretty cool, though.
Also, wanted to do a shoutout to Mercuryman76 for quick shipping and a overall great deal. Thanks again!

I found this exact same thing a couple months ago. Had a hell of a time moving it, basically gave it away. Would have kept if it fit me.

+1 Living in NM/Arizona I could never wear a wool shirt like that. A shame because I see them all the time. I thought about picking up a red + black checker patterned one today to maybe use in a Jeff Mangum Halloween Costume.

. It was a bit short though.

Were those RL chinos slim at all? If so (or potentially even if not so), I'd be interested in some of the 34x34.
they were classic fit, and okay what colors did you have in mind? they had some cool yellows, pinks, reds, whites, navys, and one pair of seersucker. PM me for more details

Protectionist economic policies/mandates are awesome. Economists don't believe they work, politicians/consumers love them in theory but can't seem to apply theory to their real lives. Ask your average Walmart shopper what they think about "Buying America" and they're ALL ******* FOR IT. But, yeah, they're shopping at Walmart. Just finished putting together a prospectus on this issue, as it is totally fascinating from a psychological perspective. My best guess is that the popularity of these types of mandates has everything to do with ingroup favoritism and absolutely nothing to do with one's desire to functionally or otherwise create a better local, national, or world economy.

Measurements, please. What's the label?
I didn't pick it up and i forgot to write measurements down I think it was something like a 40 or 42? and I forgot the label but it was not one I recognized or have ever seen on this forum, If anyone is really interested I can go back and check but it was really expensive like $20 bucks or something these prices are why I don't normally shop at the cancer society. Also this is an incredibly noob question but I was under the impression that the suits measurement were on a tag inside the breast pocket? I don't often see them there or anywhere, am I looking in the wrong place?
